Best friends...

sorry on the angle...
they were twirling and twisting...
romping and playing...
I have tried in the past with small dogs for a play mate for Bebe with no luck at all and had given up on the idea...
the last time he was attacked and required emergency vet services on a Sunday after hours and had several stitches...
not to mention the trauma...
so this is the test that has always failed...
until now...
Moses has many bald spots...
and his haircut is something else...
gave him a bath today...
he was covered in fleas and by dinner time...
I had one...
so off to the sink we went and he was so good...
and Tia and I picked and smashed fleas like crazy...
I wanted to give him one more day to settle in before I traumatized him...
but it had to be done and I am so grateful he likes baths...
he is not clingy today...
he is exploring and sniffing and playing with others and on his own...
but this is how he looks after my shower...
he panics when I close the door...
we have a separate shower with a frosted glass door...
so I have to take my shower with it open so he can see me...
and he sticks his head in there...
so I have to dry me and him...
I just wonder if he showered with his previous owner...
she did hand feed him...
so I have to have some food with me and give him one...
then he eats some out of the bowl and then comes back to me...
I did get to read the weekly paper tonight without him sitting in the middle of it...
we are making excellent progress...

this was a favorite of mine, thanks to watching older movies with my grandpa...
this movie was the pre- Waltons...
I would sit on the edge of my seat every time the baby fell out of the high chair and Clayboy had to run all the way to town to get the doctor and run all the way back to find the baby had just had the wind knocked out of him...
James recently passed away..
I was impressed at how a family was so proud that Clayboy had graduated from high school and would be going to college...
this was made in 1963...
one year after I was born...
back when movies were good and wholesome...
they made us laugh and they made us cry...
and they always left us feeling awestruck as the credits rolled...
I'm joining Nancy again for her Friday party...
join in and have some fun with us...

Moses...

Moses had a wonderful night...
he has had a hard last couple of days...
he had to say good bye to his mommy...
she just wasn't able to take care of him anymore...
so she gave him a haircut without her glasses on...
it's not good and we think the short short areas are where he was matted so...
please pray for her for making the choice to find him a new home...
it had to be so hard on her...
because he has been loved..,
and cuddled...
he had some moments when he was so scared and shook...
but by bedtime he was playing...
eating and drinking...
trying to play with the cats...
playing with Bebe...
he got anxious when I was in the shower...
so I had to finish my shower with the door open on the shower...
so he could see me...
when bedtime came...
I picked him up and took him with me...
he picked his spot between me and dh- shoulder high...
curled up in a ball and went right to sleep...
when I am on the computer...
he sits right on the desk and keeps me company...
Craig said to tell you he is a licker...
puppy kisses for everyone...
I told my dh that he is a rescue and we are fostering...
for now...
his first words in the door were- we aren't keeping him...
those are always his first words...
but I think he knows me well enough...
he knows Moses will be here a long time...
as long as it continues to work out...
anytime we bring someone new in...
it has to be a good thing for all who live here...
my other babies are family now and this is their home...
I do not want them upset or not happy...
so we are still on a trial run...
and I know Moses is highly adoptable...
on a scale of 1-10 he is a 12...
we have had so many animals go through here on their way to their forever homes and we try to do what's right for each one...
there are always ones that you want to keep but it's not right for them...
the only trouble I have had so far is when dh was on the puter last night...
I was trying to read my magazines at the table...
Moses sits on the table when I am there...
he likes the magazines, too...
curled right up on top of a page and went to sleep...
maybe when he is not so clingy and more sure of his surroundings...
he will be happy without me so much...
hugs to you and thanks for all the positive comments on Moses...
