Happy Labor Day...

in my jammies, I cleaned this up early this morning...
the high winds of the storm that came through here one night last week took the frame down that was up here...
only the center part was left...
put the frame up there and moved the scarecrow from the garden here...
its a work in progress...

mums are opening slowly...
but there will be many of them...

Abby taking me for a walk...
she can pull me in the wheel chair...

I think she likes it here...

took a couple of drives today...
one by the golf course...

its so pretty under new management...

and then out to the country...

with corn fields...

and big skies...

it was a nice enough day...
not too hot...
with a breeze...

at least it didn't take your breath away as soon as you walked out the door...

and DH got some work done outside while I just puttered slowly...
just a low energy day...

there is a bicycle down there!
crick is down big time...
if the heat and dry keep up this week, we are about 2 weeks from harvest here...
then the madness will begin...

and we are a town in mourning...
one of our young firemen and paramedics...
was killed in a one vehicle accident last weekend and they buried him yesterday...
several towns sent fire trucks and men to the funeral...
our guys draped this black and purple fabric over one of the bays...
Tommy was only 23 years old, but already a 6 year army vet who just got out...
prayers for his family and friends are much needed...

and today is my mom's birthday...
she would have been 80 this year...
I sure cannot imagine her being 80...
and soon it will be 20 years since she left this earth...
almost a lifetime ago, for me...
its not a sad day...
just a day to remember all the fun we had...
and will have again...

no big plans for us today...
Craig has to work...
making mashed potatoes and fried chicken...
maybe yard work, but nothing to write home about...
walking dogs and feeding babies...
which I should get you some photos of before they grow up...
:0)
these are going to be huge cats...

hope you have a fun day today...
cook outs and family and friends around...
napping and reading and catching up on things...
whatever you have planned, I hope it goes well...
be safe and eat well!
