Courtney's amazing mustard seed of faith...your prayers are needed...put her on your prayer lists, please...

I need prayers for my cousin's daughter in law...
her name is Courtney...
and she is a wife and mother of 3, the youngest are twins...
and she has been fighting a very nasty cancer...
so nasty that when they first found it, the doctors told her she would be gone by now...
but we hit the net and started asking for prayers....

and she started chemo...
hitting it all head on with faith and determination...
and she did so well on chemo...
finished with flying colors...
and got to ring the bell...

her family was right beside her all the way...
and at every blood test and scan...
they showed they were working...
and she kept praising God over and over again...
but we are here to ask for prayers again...
we need to touch the throne one more time...
on her behalf and those of her family...
because they need her here with them...

Courtney goes into surgery on Tuesday morning...
to remove the last of the cancer cells...
this is not a wimpy surgery, either...
they are taking 40-50% of her liver and removing her rectum...
and lymph nodes...
they are installing a permanent colostomy bag...
which she will have to live with the rest of her life...
but, she is happy to do it...
so, here is what she wanted to say in her own words...
may they uplift your hearts...

It's so hard to put into words how amazed I am by the amount of prayers that are going up for me. I truly believe every single prayer counts and I am so very thankful for every single one! Although I may not know every person that says a prayer for me I love every one of you and I pray for everyone that prays for me and I ask that God blesses every single one! I am very nervous but I know God is not a spirit of worry so I pray for a guarded mind and a peaceful heart! How amazing that I will go into the surgery with cancer and once I come out of surgery the cancer will be gone! All because God made it possible to operate which in my case only 5 to 10% of patients are able to have this operation! If that's not a miracle I don't know what is! If you are reading this and don't know God or if you are doubting God please know He's still working miracles and I am living proof! Thank you for praying and please continue to pray for us! If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer - Jeremiah 21:22

as you can see, this one has much left to do...
and after she is healed up, she plans on helping others make their way through the cancer maze...
sharing her faith of a mustard seed and her story of triumph...
God has big plans for her...
and I promise to share an amazing story of her angel and how she calmed her fears...
Courtney has left an impact on all the staff who have been treating her...
and the lives she has touched already...
just think what she will be able to do once this is over and she is well again...

so...please remember her Tuesday...
and through out the week...
its going to be a healing process and won't happen over night...
but we all know God's got this one...
in His hands...
tucked close to his chest...
;0)

where I will create...someday...

been working in here a bit this week...
this is what you see when you walk in here...
my very own playroom...

on the other wall, are trunks and suitcases full of keepsakes and family genealogy...
old photos, family items...
kids scrapbooks and yearbooks...

I really have no idea why I keep what I do...

yellow roses...
remind me of my dad...

angels for protection and guidance...

I do love silk flowers...

vintage postcards...
I used to deal in those quite a bit...

a basket of odds and ends that need to be dealt with...
those yellow things are leave scoops that I found at a farm store right after Christmas...
they will come in handy this spring...
because we dumped all the leaves on the flower beds...

this is my view from my work area...
I had planned to spend some time there reading the winter away...
it just hasn't happened yet...
too much to do...
sometimes I just go in there and sit just to be there...
and the guys stop by and visit if I am in there too long...
and this weekend, I am moving my computer back in there...
and will be in there a lot more again...
when I am not in here cooking and doing dishes...
doing laundry, knocking down cobwebs...
there's another post right there...
had all of them gone for Christmas and I turn around...
and bam!
they're back again...
ugh...

I do know there will be a lot more painting to be done come spring...
and warm weather...
I am lining up the projects to knock off once we get back outside...
I am getting my kitchen done before long, too...
cabinets and walls painted...
nothing extravagant...
too poor for that...
but it will be different and brighter...
so off I go...
its after midnight and I need some sleep...

a note on my SIL...
the doctor would not do the heart cath yesterday...
her heart rate was too weak and she wasn't breathing right...
might have fluid in the lungs...
she had done her dialysis the day before and was all goofy on them...
so not sure what that is about...
got her on IV antibiotics and meds to take off the fluids around the heart...
I think she is 66 now, so not too terribly old, but getting up there...
her name is Susan...
please keep praying...
