my best friend- she's officially a barn chick now...
ain't she cute?..

the morning watering...

this is where I love to be...
but the heat runs us back inside almost every day...
or the bugs that bite...
I had Craig lay on his tummy for these shots...
I have done them before...
and knew they would be good...
and he found a little toad...
a locust shell in another bed...
it won't be long till these start to seed...
the sedum is so large this year...
and it's soon to be in full bloom...
a picket fence...
and a rusty gate...
school will start soon...
and Doug will be moving out...
and it will not be the same around here when September comes...
I'm running out of time with my boys...
they are men now...
and soon will be moving on...
the blooms will be back next year...
but they won't be here...
I know the time will soon be gone...
gardening is a sharing time...
family time...
group hug time...
the blooms are just a bonus...
proof that we were there...
that we talked and laughed...
and the hours are golden...
and everything golden does not last...

what will be...

reproduction vintage die cuts...
I spent part of my down time the other day cutting these out...
have some vintage french letters...
so my play time today will be finding all the things I'm going to need...
and gluing things together...
so there will be more collages to work from in the future...
because Christmas will be here soon...
and I want my little spot in the booth filled with presents for girlfriends...
sisters...
aunts...
mothers...
and yourself ...
have a great day!
I just can't believe it...
I read the long range- 10 day forecast...
this has got to be the hottest, slimiest, mosquitoe infested summer in history...
I just hope they got it wrong...
I'm no longer holding out for fall...
gosh darn it...
I want snow...
have you ever had a hot flash with the heat index at 112?...
it's not pretty...
and when it snows...
I'm building a snowman...
and he won't be holding a broom...
or a shovel...
he's getting a fly swatter!...
and he's going to stand guard...
so I can lay in a lounger and catch snow flakes on my tongue...
and I'm not going to itch anymore!...

Storm clouds came this evening but no rain...
it did drop from 90 around 6pm to 75 now- 1:30 am...
we have tomatoes...
rusting well...
we have had two of the hottest days yet...
hopefully its over...
but that's what we thought before...
