Pink Saturday...a week of spring on the prairie...

welcome to the prairie of east central Illinois...
there are black angus beef cattle here...
and a state park...
tulips in my yard...
and seed pods of our red maple...
our rose of sharon started leafing out this week...
and the ferns are uncurling...
we have had sunshine and rain showers...
mud puddles and thunderstorms...
there is new growth...
and flooded fields...
scarecrows...
and bird baths...
rose bushes and places to watch the clouds go by...
there are small creeks full of the spring rains...
and color just ready to burst open...
there are clouds and flocks...
thorns without blooms...
anticipation for the coming season...
which is on hold...
for now...
but still busy with last years' crop...
and that's how we do spring on the prairie...
I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Easter...
may God's blessings shower down on all of you...
and thank you, Jesus, for dying for me...

Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit...

Luke 23:46 KJV
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said , Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost .

our town...

are you ready to go for a ride with Craig and I?
we drove around a bit on the way to the post office yesterday...
anhydrous sprayers waiting to get back into the fields...
it's a little wet right now...
a new manufactured home...
fixing the porch...
next to the golf course...
a friend of ours...
another friend...
love the trellis around the garage door...
this used to be an antique shop a few years ago...
now it is a private residence...
old farm antiques are a favorite to decorate the yards with...
and old shed...
tulips in front of the high school...
flowering trees on every street...
and wonderful old homes...
were the kids play volley ball and basket ball...
another old shed that defies gravity...
our voluteer fire department...
our car wash...
and one of many fields that surround us...
hope you had a good time...
come back and maybe we go again!

Good Friday...

nailed to a cross with 3 rusty nails...
by all rights, He should have died from His beating...
He should have never made it to the cross...
and hung between 2 thieves...
one accepted His grace and the other did not...
they could not stop His ministry even nailed to a cross...
for He saved another soul there...
and died there, for all of us...
John 19:30 (King James Version)
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said,
It is finished:
and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
by His stripes are we forgiven...
by His suffering, we are free...
and for the next 3 days...
He preached in Hell...
so it is written...
that he overcame hell, death and the grave...

John 3:16 (King James Version)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
