The wisest of people in this world are those that admit when they are wrong.

Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can.

Envy is based on an incomplete understanding of the other person's situation. - George Chapman (c.1559-1634)

the story behind this space...

...many years ago, I heard someone speak on whether people ever came back from the grave to check things out here, and someone wiser and older than me said that he thought that they did and the last place they would go is the cemetery...that they would be checking in on their loved ones that were left behind...and that they may not see the flowers we leave on the gravestones, but they would see a memorial in our homes...so...my kids were still young and at home and could be very rowdy and noisy...so I started working on this area...you see...from there, they can see everything we are doing...and it's a little more peaceful out there...so this is our mothers' garden...and even though there is no stone...we always think of them when we look at it...and it's strictly theirs...we just maintain it and leave it for them...

Rebecca's last year for the 4th...

I think it's cool...

the latest debate around here...

Another cooler day...

Worry often gives a small thing a big shadow.

My favorite place to be today...

the breeze is good and the birds are singing...
we have got some repair work to do on the fence in places...
moved the whicker chair here and almost fell asleep in it...
this would be a good place for an old metal bed...
just an idea of what the fence will be like when we get it all up...
it's a good day for so many things. so whatever you picked to do...hope you enjoyed every minute of it...

Our weekend makeover:

It's a wonderful day...

Craig's flower bed with added gazebo pieces...
rose moss...
his day lily...
corn and beans...
green beans in 2 weeks with all the blooms...
worked here some...
Bebe playing dead...
just having fun...
corn is coming up fast...
can you see the breeze???

I had Craig get the other whicker chair out of the neighbor's trash this morning...it's a little crooked but it might straighten up...
we weeded here...
the little wagon cart finished...
Steve worked hard getting all the rusty screws off...
what we started with...
weeds gone...

these are Doug's maples he planted when he was still in high school and lived at home...
got more to do...later...
