last night's storms...

straight line winds caused some major damage last night 8 miles south of us...
this is the town I worked in at the antique mall...
this is where we go to the deli...

they were without power for 10 hours...
the trucks kept getting stuck in the muddy fields...

debris is everywhere...

the roof of Ashmore Estates was blown off...

at least 20 power poles where snapped in half...

a very nice man from there took all these photos this morning and posted them online...
that's the John Deere dealership...

3 grain bins are the elevator are gone...

these guys worked so hard today...

and they got the power back on just in time for cold temps tonight...
its just now at 31...
snow coming in tonight and tomorrow...

we are fine here...
no one was hurt in the storm...
they have a lot of clean up to do...
but they are a small town like us and we all just pitch in until its done...
they will have it cleaned up soon...

hope you all are safe...
this storm packed a wallop and it hit other places as it passed through...
pray for those not so lucky...
the ones who have to clean up...
and bless those men and women who come in and put things back together...

another warm day...

had to roll up my pant legs to walk in the yard...

muddy and damp, but very warm...

there's a slight mist in the air and we have a breeze...
 I love days like this...

we have severe weather coming later this afternoon and maybe tornadoes...

but for right now, its perfect...

praying we are all kept safe from the storms...

Monday's doings...

got Chilly shipped home this morning...

we are so warm and boy, is there fog...

lilac buds...

you cannot see this far now...

waiting for the "official" spring...

while it was warm and foggy, Craig and I took a drive...

and I took my camera...

and this is all within 3 minutes of my front door...

I really love this shot and just might use it for my background on the computer...

we saw this cute kitty waiting for something to pounce on...

this is all around a pond on the golf course...

a place that I miss so much...
we all used to golf...
quite a bit...

the steam was just rolling off of the water...

and this is the main creek around here, just past the golf course...

and that mound, that's our sewer treatment area for the town...

and it has cat tails and deer...

then on down the road on the other side are my favorite cows...

angus beef cattle...

and there you go...
53 while we were out joy riding...
and tomorrow, DH said we could hit 70...
but there will storms with that...
hopefully, no tornadoes...
and my fun thing today...

I won a box of pink candy canes from Lynn at The Vintage Nest...
she is shipping them out right away...
I think they will be so cute on my Valentine tree in the kitchen...
thank you so much, Lynn!
you always make me smile...

all packed and ready to go...

Chilly has been visiting us for a few days...
from Ohio...
my cousin's granddaughter sent him to us...
well, her teacher, Mrs. McCormack sent him...
and this is the cover shot of the mini photo album I put together for them...

and here are the rest of the pages...

I hope Riley and her class enjoy the adventures Chilly had here...

can't wait to hear back from her mom...
Chilly's shipping out of here in the morning from our post office...

Chilly's day, so far...

well, I looked and looked in the envelope he came in and couldn't find his winter clothes...

no problem...
we sat right down and made him some...
because its really cold here...
and no one, not even a snowman should be out on a day like this without mittens and a scarf...

I even made him an extra pair while I was at it...
but he had no where to put them...
so I made him a back pocket and he stuck them right in there...

and then he kept mumbling...
very hard for me to understand...
so, I got out my sharpie and made him a mouth...
crazy snowman is still talking...
and then I gave him one of my hearts...
and I will throw some extra in when he goes back...
for him to hand out...
because we all know that snowmen melt your heart...
and that's our day so far...

how's your's going?
