the weekend shots...

this is our new garden space...
big enough for tomatoes and green beans and a few other things...
can't wait to see how it comes out...

the dwarf lilac is in full bloom...

and the iris opened...
most of them...

it was in the uppers 80s last weekend...

but yesterday was in the low 60s...
and breezy...

are these paper whites?
they just popped up in a few places...

one of the new hostas....

this should fill in this year...
transplanted 2 more rose bushes in there...

took half a down day yesterday and might do the same today...
Craig is off Wed, and we might get to work outside...
maybe...
if it warms up and doesn't rain...

babies are doing good...
growing and getting sassy...
will get some new photos of them this week...

have good days...

2019 Rutherford Rumble

my friend and her husband organize the Rutherford Rumble every year...

its not accessible for me since its in the grass...

the wheel chair just won't go through it...

so I sat on the road where they came in and shot them there...

and then zoomed in down the rows and got what I could...

we weren't there long and took about 100 photos...

there was supposed be a scooter thingy for me to use there this year...

but it wasn't, so did what I could do and left...

we had yard work to do...

and we have a lot to do...

so here are the ones I could shoot...

not bad for an amateur...
;)
have a blessed day...

squatters...

we put out a winter home for the feral cat that joined us last fall...
we were cleaning the deck off and was about to put the insulated tote house we made for her up...

when we found these inside...

they are pretty good size and very healthy...

and mama keeps them well fed...

so we are putting food and water out there now for her so she doesn't have to be gone hunting all time...
she does fine fending for herself here...
we fed her in the bitter cold part of the winter, but she usually does fine on her own...
they are about 3 weeks old and not venturing out yet...
Craig and I are taking them out every day and handling them to get them used to us so we can catch them later...
mama doesn't mind at all...

getting into the dr today...
got something going on on my thigh I need looked at...
if it ain't one thing...
fibro is a pain in the butt...

have good days...

sometimes the sun shines...

but a lot of the time it hasn't been...

not a lot of accumulation...

switching diabetic medication this week...

so I have been forced to take so down days coming off of the old one...
it was making me so sick...

and dizzy...
but I couldn't just go off one and go right on the other...
been taking half doses of the new one while weaning off of the old one...

just enough rain to keep everything really green without the swampland...
and its all filling in...

these are my big $4 purchase from the citywide rummage sale...
each section was $1 each...
going to hang them on the outside of the front of the deck with hinges...
so me can push them out a bit and open and close the shutters...
will use eye hooks to secure them to the deck rail...
wish there had been one more...
the almost go across the front...
but will be enough to keep the sun and rain off of us when we sit out there...
and then there's the chair makeover to do...
need to cut all the fray stuff off...

come back tomorrow for a big surprise...
and see what we found on the deck last weekend!

have fun days...

taking a down day...

we have been working this a lot lately...

and its caught up with me...
lol

weeds in the field behind us...
its never been this trashy before...
(they tilled yesterday)

lily of the valley is blooming...
Bebe's resting place...
he's been gone 5 years Tuesday...
and we have had Charlie 5 years yesterday...
(makes him 6 1/2 years old now)

bloomers to come...

more to come...

needs a face lift, and will soon get one...
we have had this 9 years now...

knock out roses are doing great...

sand cherry bushes are doing great and growing fast...

Tuesday, we tried burning the leaves on the new garden area...
part of it was still wet...
Thursday, DH picked me off when he got off work and took me to a friend's house...
to dig flowers!
we got hostas and ground cover...
we spent 2 hours there...
Craig and I planted them yesterday...
and burnt a bit more off of the garden...
before the rain came last night...
and today, I am sore...
and I need a nap, so that's what's happening next...
I get 2 days to rest up before DH is here to work me out again...
we have much to do still...
and a garden to establish on top of all the spring stuff...
maple helicopters are falling all over the place, so will wait to clean out the beds until they are done...
its pointless to rush during pod season, but we have a deck to clean...
sticks to burn and a brush pile the size of a small elephant to burn...
so- enough about us...
enjoy your weekends and Happy Mother's Day to all of you...
God bless and prayers for a wonderful time with your families...
even the furry ones...

we still have tulips...

can you believe it?

spring is moving right along here...

the raspberries we planted last year have new sprouts coming up from them...

I have never had tulips last this long before, ever...

the ferns are way ahead of schedule...

Craig had yesterday off, so we worked on several things...

DH's willow tree...

this is the city dump where we find all kinds of bricks and pavers...
we were looking for something to border the raspberries...
we found the round concrete samples- have used them before...
a handful of bricks and a few more pavers...
need any large stepping stones?
if only I have a way of moving them...
(should start saving for a bobcat)

we had a good day outside...
I am probably not moving much today...
pretty sore...
but it was worth it...
:)
have a blessed day...

another rainy morning...

it finally stopped a bit ago, but everything is soaking wet out there...
mom's fern...

peonies...
we got up and went to a rummage sale this morning...
it's citywide rummage sale day here...

I always try to get to June's...
and she is the only one that we did this morning...

got laundry going and putting things up and decluttering the counters...
the green is filling in fast now...

the leave are bigger...

picked up 4 shutters for the deck...

for $1 each...
and they are wide...
going to love them when we get them up...
will need hardware for them...
my initial plan is to hang them with eye hooks...
so we shall see how this goes...
photos later...
they are still in the van...

have not heard about Susie's Ted yet...
will let you know when I do...

blessings to all...
