Pink Saturday...

this week I would like to share my King's Crown cream and sugar...
I found these on eBay several years ago...
these and my desserts are the only ones I have in the cranberry...
the rest are ruby...
2 weeks ago, I posted the others...
Happy Pink Saturday!
for more PINK...

Grab a pot of tea and a bag of cookies...

we are having our last 70 degree day before the temps drop down in the 50s...
and there is a warm breeze blowing...
I took over 50 photos...
but I cut it back to these...
this is my neighbor's pear tree...
and Doug and I went for a walk and then came back home and I took photos while he grabbed a rake and cleaned up...
so just enjoy the sunshine and the shadows and one of the last of our gorgeous fall days on the prairie...
Doug and Moses...
Doofus...
Daphne sniffing around...
I actually thought she was going to jump in them...
he put the leaves in the flower beds for me...
and here they will sit  until we rake them off in the spring...
mums and birdbath...
turned over...
freshly raked yard...
I love it when it looks so neat and ready for winter...
no more bon fires...
we are in a code red or something red...
no fires, no burning leaves...
too dry...
we have many plans for next spring...
Doug had this idea to put the rail road ties across here about 4 foot from the front of the house, dig that out and pour concrete between the house and ties so I can get my wheel chair across here...
we have to go down the walk, out in the road and back down the side yard to get me there now...
this is Doofus in the leaf pile under the bench...
this is my mirrored star...
it's my Christmas present from Rebecca...
we exchanged our presents the 1st of November...
it is huge and it is awesome!
I hope you get to get outside these last few days that we have left...
and for the ones who already have snow...
I am so glad that you got to come and play in my yard on this warm and sunny day...
hugs- Tete

A year ago...November 2009...

last year in November, I was busy painting...
getting ready for Christmas shows...
and to sell on consignment...
there were still leaves on the trees...
and fall was in full swing...
the corn came out on the 10th last year...
a month later than this year...
and Birkey's needed a sign for their Christmas tree on the square...
my father in law was here for Thanksgiving and it was about a month before he had his first stroke and 2 months before he passed away...
because of his diet...
1000mg of sodium a day...
I thought it would be nice if we had steaks, baked potatoes and a salad for dinner...
he thought it was the best idea...
said it had been forever since he had had steak...
and cleaned his plate...
it was our last dinner with him...
and I am so glad we changed it up and made it super special for him...
the mantel was like this...
one of the desserts...
cheese cake with apple pie filling...
yeah, this is a keeper...
doing it again this  year...
then the next day we began decking the halls...
put up the little pencil tree...
my husband complains about it...
but until he strikes it rich and buys me a mansion...
this is what's happening here...
Christmas Is A Child was going on...
we gather toys for children in our school district...
these are a few of our local helper elves wrapping gifts so a child will have something under the tree come Christmas morning...
then the decorating began inside...
and it began getting a little chillier out...
and more and more things went up...
and the snow began...
just enough to get us in the mood...
and we never forget the reason we celebrate the season...
my son found these at the Dollar Tree a few years ago and thought his momma would want them...
he's such a good kid...
just a glimpse of the past and of things to come...
are you ready?...
2 weeks from today our tree will be going up...
we will be eating left overs...
making out Christmas cards...
it's coming fast...
2 weeks...
it's going to fly by...
