hit the ground running this morning...

and we are getting more snow...
took this early this morning...
the birds were in to feed...

we are on the edge of another winter storm warning...
just a few miles north is in it...

these guys don't eat out of the feeder...
but they were singing so loud...
and there was a huge crow...

Myra and the babies...

the buffet is open...

ran out to grab some lunch...
and took some photos on the way there...

another train is in...
the elevator is sure making progress on the ground piles...

cloudy here...
kind of gloomy out...

but there is a peace to gloom...

and a calm...

this is what got me moving so fast this morning...
found her away from all the others...
worked on her for more than an hour...
she just wasn't strong enough...
so we are back to 4 babies and a mom...
God always leaves us with more than he takes...
have a blessed weekend...
;)

looking for somewhere fun to visit?

have I got a place for you...
her name is Tessa...
and she is a spitfire...
and so sweet...
stop by and check her out...
you will so love her and her spirit...
and her blog!
;)

the new babies...

these photos are from yesterday...

the first 3 were blonde...

so cute...
the fourth one is a muted calico...
with eye brows...

mama and I had a hard night of it...
the fifth one was stuck too long and didn't make it...
it was a russian blue and just huge...
twice the size of the others...
and right after it passed the birth canal, number six happened...
another muted calico...

they are kenneled and covered so they can all rest...
no photos today, probably...
mama is so, so tired...
and I am not sure there isn't another one...
I keep checking in there often...
I have her here in the kitchen where I can see her...
Craig is working today, so I asked him to grab a can of kitten milk just in case we lose the mama...
and we have to bottle feed them...
got her on Iams kitten food for her milk...
the little ones look healthy, strong and can suck good...
;)

we have babies!

so far, we have four...

and mama is taking a break in between times...

there are more in there and are moving down into position...
could be a few hours...
I love this little face...

I shut down my blog awhile today...
but am opening it back up so you can see them...
and if you read my last post, it will explain it all...
I will be going through my blog and taking off all photos that are not mine...
that will take awhile...
so in the mean time...
it will just be exciting news like this...
;)

if you can read this, you are but a handful right now...

I have closed the blog down...
not forever, but just until I can make some changes here and delete a bunch of posts...
a dear blogger friend sent my a link to something that scared the britches right off of me...
it concerned using other peoples photos in your blog and the kind of copyright trouble you can get into...
I so do not need any kind of drama in my life...
nothing like that...
so I started deleting the posts and found after I went back in and looked at my blog...
I rather like it being about only my home, my town, my life again...
so hang in there with me while I get this cleaned up...
there will be no more random thoughts or images from anywhere but my own camera...
unless its to do a prayer request for someone and I have permission to use a photo...
so, as much fun as those posts were, its just not worth getting sued over or hassled about...
:)
in other news, mama is in labor and we are about to have baby kittens again...
so stay tuned for all of that fun...

I did get out...but not for long...

having some fibro and arthritis issues and I almost didn't get out at all...

but we got to 46 yesterday, so one quick run before it did me in...

I am sitting here, just before 2am...

the wind is gusting up to 55 mph here...
and the wind chill is -10...
and will keep dropping before morning...

I did a little v day decorating...

I had my box out and was about to get the white feather tree out of storage...
when 2 hyper kitties came stomping in to see what I was up to...

so it all got dumped in a bowl and a couple cups...
and I quickly shut the door...

this is what snow that there is left...

still some good sized chunks along side of the road...

but for the most part, we did have bare ground...

and it was good to get out...

its always good to see the sun and melting things...

I think I might have a bug of some kind, too...

did run across this one...
eating last fall apples along side of the road...
I had my window down and told him to sit pretty...
and he came right up to me...

we need to start praying this winter away...
and I need prayers for a dear, sweet lady...
her name is Jettie...
and she is having hip replacement surgery in the morning...
pray she has a good, relaxing day today...
and a good night's sleep...
and pray for her doctor and the staff that will be doing the surgery and the ones taking care of her after...
she is to be in the hospital 3 days...
I will post more about her tomorrow...
and her blog...
sleep well, the rest of the night...
and if you are in this mess of a storm, be safe and warm...
praying all of our power stays on...

leaning...

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

what does that say to you?
what does it mean to you?

it tells me that I do not know enough to figure things out...
that He will lead me...
that, not even I, can follow the map by myself...
that I need to ask for direction...
but then it also says to me...
once He points me where He wants me to go...
that I don't sit here and second guess it...
try to figure it out...
that I should TRUST and just go...
stop wasting time...
mine and His...
and do what He is telling me to do...

that we spend too much time trying to figure out what's going on in His head...
with our meager little brains...
we can't do it...
its IMPOSSIBLE!
being OBEDIENT means...
doing what HE WANTS...
not what we think we want...
sometimes that goes along together...
but sometimes HE is trying to either pull us away from harm before we can see it...
or lead us to something so awesome, we would have never, ever thought it...

don't we all seem to do most things the hard way?
kicking and screaming like a spoiled child...
like being pulled away from a hot flame...
to be led to a Merry Go Round...
but the flame was so pretty....
we just knew we had to have it...
and then when we tug so hard, we twist our way out of His grasp...
we touch the flame...
only to learn for ourselves that pretty is not always best...
that maybe He did know best...
and we bawl and scrawl and blame Him for our pain...
when we are to blame...
lean not on ourselves and our own understanding...

LEAN ON HIM...
:)
may God bless your day...

photos from a couple days ago...

ok, I love this...
its a turkey pizza sub...
so easy to make....
open the sub roll...
lightly butter both sides and sprinkle with garlic powder...
add pizza sauce to each side...
add mozzarella and parmesan cheeses...
throw on some ground parsley...
stack on your turkey and close it up...
wrap it in foil, shiny side in...
bake for 15 minutes at 350...
so good...
you can put anything you want on these...
the guys do ham and pepperoni...

ok, a couple days ago, Craig and I went for a drive...
this is the dam on our town lake...
our drinking water used to come out of that...

logs and stuff come over the spill way and get stuck for awhile...

I think its too cold for that now...

love this weathered wood...

and old fences...

the water keeps trying to freeze over, but just can't do it with the warm days here and there...

its pretty when its trying to freeze...

that's a crick running through there...

another fence post...

and I have no idea what this is!
looks like baby yellow tomatoes...
just one small section of them and have seen anything like it anywhere else...
any ideas?

well, probably should get off of here and get some work done...
or take a nap...
;)

I finally got out of town yesterday...

and it was wonderful!

the cows were so cute...
I love fuzzy faced cows...

if you talk to them, most of the time they will look at you...

it was a great, warm day...

and we have an even better day here today...
51F...

the snow is almost all gone!

feels like a spring thaw going on...

but we all know that its going to snow again before that happens...

just hoping that those crazy cold days are behind us...

getting ready to tile a field...
going to have to wait until it dries up a bit before they can start laying it...

hope your Monday is a good one so far...
I am about to grab some lunch here and then finish a book...
both guys are working and all the critters are asleep!
woo hoo for me!
;)
