STEVE IS ON HIS WAY HOME...

ITS BEEN A LONG DAY FOR HIM...SOMEONE CAME IN AND CHECK HAROLD TO SEE IF HE COULD SWALLOW- SHE USED ICE CHIPS AND MADE HIM YELL AND THEN COUNT TO 5...
HE PASSED AND HE WILL BE ON SOFT FOODS TOMORROW...
COULD HAVE ATE TONIGHT BUT HE DIDN'T WANT THEM TO ORDER ANYTHING UP FOR HIM...
FOR THE REST OF TONIGHT...NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS...WILL POST MORE WHEN THERE IS MORE...

HEY GUYS-

JUST AN UPDATE ON HAROLD-
HIS BLOOD CLOT IS IN THE VERY FRONT LEFT PART OF THE LOBE IN THE BRAIN AND IT CANNOT MOVE ANYMORE SO THEY ARE NOT GOING IN AFTER IT.
HE IS HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE RIGHT SIDE, BLADDER AND THEY ARE NOT SURE IF HE CAN SWALLOW WELL ENOUGH TO EAT SO THEY ARE SAVING THAT FOR TOMORROW.
HE CAN TALK OK SOMETIMES AND SOMETIMES HE HAS TROUBLE MAKING THE WORDS.
THE DOCTOR SAID THE NEXT COUPLE TO 3 DAYS WILL DETERMINE HOW MUCH DAMAGE IS PERMANENT. HE COULD GET PART, ALL OR NONE OF IT BACK.
HE WILL BE IN THERE FOR SOME TIME. THERE ARE MORE TESTS THEY WANT TO DO.
THEY PUT ON BLOOD THINNER AGAIN.
STEVE IS COMING HOME TONIGHT AND WILL GO BACK UP IN THE MORNING.
THAT'S ALL FOR NOW AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS.

CHRISTMAS 2003...

CRAIG, STEVE AND HAROLD

HAROLD'S AT CARLE NOW-

HE HAD A MASSIVE STROKE- THEY ARE DOING ANOTHER CAT SCAN- MAY GO IN AND TAKE THE BLOOD CLOT OUT- DR MADE SURE HE HAD A DNR AND THAT STEVE HAD POWER OF ATTORNEY AND THEY MADE STEVE SIGN MORE PAPERS NOT TO RESSITATE.
SARAH BUSH- THE FIRST HOSPITAL REFUSED TO GIVE HIM THE STROKE MEDS- YOU NEED TO DO THAT IN THE FIRST 2-3 HOURS AND NOW ITS TOO LATE...

HAROLD HAD A STROKE-

CAN'T MOVE HIS RIGHT SIDE- THEY DID XRAYS AND CAT SCAN- WILL BE MOVING HIM TO CARLE

Lifeline called us this morning...

when Harold had pushed his lifeline and wasn't responding. They found him in the kitchen and he had fallen and was bleeding from the elbow pretty bad. Steve is with him in the ER at Charleston now, but they are talking about sending him to Carle- the closest trauma center. They were sending him to xray, but he says he does not feel right and Steve thinks he had a stroke or is having one. Will keep you posted.
Being reproached for giving to an unworthy person, Aristotle said, "I did not give it to the man, but to humanity."
One must be poor to know the luxury of giving.

Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need.
