yeah, its that kind of a day...
but it is so warm out- in the 50s...
new bassinet that I bought off of Rebecca...
for the babies to sleep in...
dianthus has blooms on them!
can you believe that?
I have never seen it this early...
this bush never did lose all its leaves...
grape hyacynths...
iris...
Bebe is feeling so much better!
he was romping and wanted me to play with him...
this is the White House Cafe...
it is an original building to the square...
it once housed our lady photographer...
back in the day...
they are hosting a spaghetti supper tonight...
to raise money for new playground equipment for our grade school...
Craig is going with his friends...
the south side of the square...
waiting for Craig to get the mail...
and a box came...
part of Doug's easter clothes is in there...
then a drive through the cemetery...
I had concrete angels on my mind today...
and I know where to find them...
a little girl who died at 5...
this was placed in 1910...
she is missing her nose and one hand...
the carving on this one makes me smile...
the skill it took to make this just blows me away...
and this is the Rutherford section of the cemetery...
Dr Hiram Rutherford was our first educated doctor...
knew Lincoln...
housed children of color...
he was an abolitionist...
and just look at the stones!
someone has cleaned them!
they were turning black...
I had no idea that they would have ever been this bright before...
its windy out, but its so nice and warm...
been for a walk and thinking of doing another...
with ear muffs, of course...
the ground is very squishy...
so we will have to stick to the road for now...
DH should be home anytime...
so better get a move on...
have a great evening!

From reading your last 2 posts, you've been a shopaholic the last little while. Love all that stuff you got.
I was in DG the other day, and looking at stuff, thinking of Easter and wondering what I needed to buy.
I love that you are able to be out and about and feeling well enough to do it! I love old graveyards. There is one close to here that I love to visit. There is a family grave there with 4 little children (different ages) that all died on the same day. I wonder when I see it if it was a fire or something. The Mom and Dad died much later and it doesn't appear that they had other children. I always get a bit teary eyed at that site.
I hope you have a wonderful evening with the dh. xo Diana
Hi Tete-such a nice post. your town looks so cozy and wonderful. and imagine....knowing Lincoln! I love our history and the history in our towns.
and as far as needing help....always.
were you able to click on that link?
the facebook page you set up for me seems to be getting intercepted by my original. I do have a computer guy here that I think is going to help me. This is why I don't blog much anymore. I just can't seem to do the things I want to!
but anyway, I'll keep plugging, and I thank you so much....don't want to keep bothering you!
I'll get there eventually.
Hi Tete,
I hope this post finds you doing well.
I think your story is just magical and makes one think of all the things that matter.
Thank you for making my day,
Char
The White House has great fried chicken..love seeing pics of Oakland!
Tete's Day Out...What fun...You had lots of eyecandy out in the real world today...((hah! WHO needs Pinterest???)) Loved the cemetary tour and I am with you on the Headstone and statuary handiwork...beautiful...love the timeworn and exposed-to-the- elements beauty of the Angel...I DO love me some angels...Just reread the verse where Jesus said that "these little ones" have angels who have constant access to my Father....WHAT A FANTASTIC BLESSING...knowing that Guardian Angels ARE FOR REAL! Christ the Son of God said so HIMSELF. :-) blows you away...Love the furbabies~ what a life..I shall have to come back as a pet of Tete's....Hugs to you. Thanks for the neat tour, Tete! * Ohhhh!! and don't ya just love those "brown paper packages" that come! :-) xoxo
