drying roses from valentine's day...

still have snow on the ground, and more coming later tonight and tomorrow...

another 4-6 inches...

yippee...

I have been gathering images...

and painting the island...

2 sides done and 2 to go...

and just lately, I started selling extra stuff online...

and I have sold a few things already...

and the rest will be boxed and donated somewhere...

another prayer request...

this is my cousin, Deb...

she was just here on a visit...

lives in Phoenix...

and when she got home, she found that her tumor has grown...

they found a tumor in her liver before...

but it was small...

now, since its bigger, she qualifies to be on the donor list...

she needs a complete transplant, not just a partial from a live donor...

please pray for this to happen for her...

we love her very much...

this poor cardinal could see the birdseed, but the snow was banked around it...

DH had to go out and clear the snow from the feeders so everyone could eat...

and he threw some on the ground...

so ready to sit out here again...

it was a pretty wet snow...

I love the wet snow...

when it sticks to everything...

my fix it guy came back yesterday and got the exhaust housing put in from the outside...

and 2 of the outside lights put up...

love the way they look...

we have one more outside light to go...

waiting for warmer weather...

moving it toward the back and he has to pop the vinyl siding off to run the wire...

its cold enough here it could just shatter if he tries it now...

I need to pick up a bedroom light and he will be back to put it up for me...

the rest of the small jobs will have to wait until warmer weather...

the snow is still hanging out here...

not melting at all...

it was -12 yesterday morning...

and no warmth in sight...

not sure if I want to get out this weekend and go shopping or not...

DH would be happy if we just stayed home...

Craig is off today...

I know there is going to be laundry and vacuuming done...

a little cooking...

today is the day to catch up on all the stuff I have let go all week...

it really kind of looks like a disaster in here...

nothing a good hour won't cure...

might even get ahead of things...

so, if you are stuck inside, I hope you can find something fun to do...

you know this won't last forever, even though that's how it feels right now...

might be a good time to day dream of warmer days...

what plants are going where...

what needs a coat of paint or maybe there's a bigger project in your future...

just floating around in your head right now...

not diggin' winter anymore...

just not liking all this cold...

but I did get a few minutes throughout the day to pop in here to add another coat of paint on these...

I was wondering who kept messing with my pillows...

just so he could see the birds outside...

this room is going to be a work in progress for some time...

but I can say when I go in to sit down...

I am happy here...

contractor guy came in and we now have the kitchen lights up...

and the exhaust hood over the stove...

the ceiling fan in the bedroom is gone and waiting a light fixture...

had to pull it to see what would be best there...

so now I know what to pick up...

he will be back today to finish the exhaust fan from the outside...

and install the two new lights out there, too...

we are moving one, so he has to pull the siding to run the wire under it...

I was having a bad day, so I took a muscle relaxer with supper and was in bed by 7pm...

I think the only thing that will help now is spring...

just warmer weather where I can sit out on the deck and sweat...

I think that when it finally gets here...

its going to be so appreciated...

farmer's almanac says a late spring...

hot summer...

wet fall...

we shall see...

DH wants to run to Paris tonight after work...

I see a whopper in my future...

Doug did his orientation at FedEx yesterday...

and he starts today...

he needs work boots...

sending money in with Craig today for him to get them...

he trains today and tomorrow...

Thursday, he will be on his own...

to say he is super excited is an under statement...

got these photos yesterday when I ran to the store with DH...

they are just around town...

not a lot going on right now...

just hanging out waiting on the contractor to show up to get things done...

so I am in a place where I can't really start something...

or head back to bed...

its sunny and bright here this morning...

but so bitter cold...

seems like there's been an abundance of people either sick or having some form of surgery...

so prayers for all of those who are recovering from those things...

prayers for our military, where ever they are stationed...

and their families waiting for them...

prayers for everyone without power from the winter storms and those who can't get out yet...

and special prayers for all the parents who are doing all the snow days and watching the same video over and over and over again...

we got snow...again...

it started in late last night and by morning, we had 6 more inches on the ground...

I rode with DH up to get the mail this morning...

they left a notice in our PO Box but they were already closed last night, so we had to run back up this morning...

dippy me completely forgot that I had won a giveaway last week...

Kelly made me this wonderful card, too...

I think she has been paying attention!

she used my favorite washi tape!  

she is super talented...

you really need to go check her out...

I ran out of energy, so when I get the other one hung up...

because this guy here who loves me more than baseball and mustard on ham...

helped me move my playroom around today...

and it only took us about an hour and a half to do it...

and we didn't need Craig after all...

its a small room...

but now it looks much bigger than it did...

and...

I can reach things when I want them...

before, I had to get up for every little thing...

I have more tweaking to do and a little moving around of drawers and such...

and there is plenty of light to work without the work area being right under the window...

the futon was the hardest thing to move...

but my guy is super strong and got it done...

he even moved the shelf for me so I can put my little canisters on it...

I also wanted to show you my roses...

Craig's girlfriend, Tia got me these for V day...

and Craig brought this little rose bush home the day after when they were half price...

just hoping I can keep it alive to get it planted outside this spring...

the cats want it bad...

part of the leaves have been ripped off already...

the sun came out around lunch time and it warmed up to just below 30...

the warmest we will be the next 10 days, at least...

but it was enough to clear the roads and that's a good thing...

hope you can stay warm and dry until spring pops!

and that your weekend is a good one...

staying in tomorrow for sure...

maybe some cooking...

cleaning and laundry is a must do...

so heading in to take a nap...

but...we were so busy catching up and talking and all that fun stuff...

and we had a great time...

but it was not enough time...

and I missed the before they got out of the drive way...

and there are plans to get together again...

when it warms up...

I was 4 the last time I saw Sheila and 16 the last time I saw Deb...

we have been emailing and on facebook for many years now...

but there is nothing like being able to hug someone...

and to be able to sit and look them in the eye and see parts of you or others family members in their faces and in their mannerisms...

they got to meet DH and both boys...

and there are just no words to describe how grateful I am to Sheila for making all of this happen...

glad they did get out of here before this weekend...

we got 2-6 inches coming with sleet, ice and/or snow...

really cold temps and all that fun winter stuff...

so we have stocked up and ready for it...

stay warm and stay safe...

this winter has to leave sometime, just not soon enough...
