good morning!
I hope your weekend is full of fun plans...
we have our city wide rummage sales this weekend...
but there is only one that I want to go to...
found these wild sunflowers yesterday evening on our drive...
we have had a wonderfully cool week here and even cooler nights...
but we have warmer weather coming and no rain until the next weekend...
another sign of fall...
those bags hold the football players gear...
and homework...
this picnic table is just outside the door of the gym...
they have always had one there...
even when my boys played...
our first game is tonight, but its away...
so will have to wait until they play at home to see them in action...
we used to be the Oakland Oaks...
orange and black...
but we had to consolidate the sports programs...
first with just one town...
so the kids at each school picked what color they would keep and a new name...
we picked orange and the other town picked purple...
yes...its not a good combination...
the shades of each could be toned down a bit...
but this is what they wanted...
and...
the new name of the teams?
Tri County Titans...
with a Trojan for a mascot...
go figure...
you would think someone would have caught that tiny error...
you know, being a school with teachers and all...
;0)
now another school has joined us and we cover 4 counties, not just 3...
another name change?
PLEASE!
and new colors...
probably ain't going to happen...
each school does their own home coming and all that...
but we still cheer them on...
and sometimes mess up and yell...
GO OAKS!
old habits are hard to shake for us old timers...
;0)
need to find my cow bell...
(there might have been a bunch of us when our kids played that showed up with cow bells and milk jugs partially filled with gravel)
could we make some noise...
;0)
we might just have to show this new generation of parents how to get rowdy!

autumn signs here tooo....
ahhhh, memories. HS football. both our boys played. one was quarterback and other was his center. and center played both ways because we were a tiny school and didn't have enough players.
I went to all the games, even driving miles, alone. husband was working all the time, but he went, when he could. he played all sports, when he was in HS.
memories..... :-)))))
