Doug and Paula spent some time there last evening...
and got some really good photos...
DH and I haven't been there in years...
its too expensive and hard for me to get around...
and usually super hot and humid...
but going at night is the best time to go...
the kids favorite thing?
strawberry shake ups and funnel cakes...
ya know we raised them right!
Craig is still sore this morning...
another day back at work...
he is looking forward to a day off...
(Sunday)

and enjoy the last days of summer...

We had it here also in our town. Your right terribly hot, hot . Plus visitor crowds terrible. It is five minutes walk from my apt. The hotness and crowds kept me away.
I was able to see the Parade and bands from my balcony. They were on the side street and then went on to the main street where crowds were waiting and standing. Now that was a bonus for me.
Tete, I do remember being young and wanting to ride every ride there was and eating every kind of nasty fair food. LOL. I think the pictures are wonderful. Our state fair is going on right now. Mr. Pence was on the Today show this morning, broadcasting from the fair. Dragging secret servicemen thru the animal barns and such. LOL. Hope your weekend is nice. Ours is to be a bit cooler. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Wonderful pictures of the Oldest Fair in the State of Illinois!! We never went, just went to the Fall festival in Toledo. However, I can read it Aunt Annie's diaries they never missed a fair.
Gorgeous photos Tete! I'm the same way...always loved the Fairs as a younger person...but in today's world, it is and was way to hot, humid, expensive and difficult for me to get around. But their wonderful for people to go to... I hope their never lost in this busy world we live in.
