this is the field lake behind us...
the one causing all the flooding in our yard and the neighbors' yards...
if it wasn't such a threat to our properties...
it would be awesome to sit and watch it daily...
but lake front property (when its not supposed to be a lake)...
comes at a price...
:(
but there are other things around here that are doing just fine...
so much is blooming!
after a super long day Saturday trying to pump out the north side yard...
and just being on edge...
DH and I got out there yesterday and staying on the north side of the house...
we got more things planted and did planning for later...
we are plotting out a rose garden...
and will move the roses we have in the south side if they survive...
we have completely rethought the space between the deck and shed...
my potting bench will be going up against the shed...
it will be closer for me on bad days, anyway...
paving it with pavers, bricks and using a bit of the rubber mulch there...
I will do a post on rubber mulch soon!
we started out in winter clothing...
but by noon, I was down to a tank top...
we have a list a mile long this year...
I hope we have enough weekends to do it all!
one good thing about all the wind and rain last week...
is that I believe all the helicopters are off of the trees and the clean up now is not in vain!
and I asked God yesterday if we had to lose something from all this water...
to please take the weeds and leave the bloomers!
(you know, He can do anything!)
DH started out kind of sour yesterday and I just said not doing that today...
we need this garden time with God to heal our souls...
and he straightened right up and said, yes we do...
:)
so we got in our kneeling time and came up calm and full of peace...
things will work out...
we are being steered in a different direction...
and we are so grateful our house isn't flooded on the inside...
(people on the other street were)
and if it takes us getting involved in this to fight this farmer family...
well, so be it...
we may have to be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves or just don't know how...
:)
there is a reason...
there is a plan...
prayers that we fulfill His dream...
:)
have a wonderful day!

I hope you can get the water problem solved, Tete. It will probably be hard to fight the farmer because it will most likely fall under an 'uncontrollable act of nature'. That is what has happened here a time or two. Good luck.
I am glad there was no flooding in your house! THAT is a good thing. Blessings - xo Diana
Hi Tete, you have a wonderful attitude and it's an inspiration!! I pray the water recedes and takes the weeds with it.
Your flowers are still beautiful and your peony bush looks like it's about ready to bloom. I haven't heard anyone say helicopters from the trees in a long time since my growing up years in Michigan. Those things used to be everywhere. Did you ever whistle with them? It was something all the kids did with the fresher green ones. We don't have them here in Texas.
Thinking of you and hoping for better days coming.
Hugs and Prayers. xo
