this was yesterday morning...
the field behind us is going to need to be replanted...
the sun popped out at few times here and there throughout the day...
but the majority of it was cloud covered with a dab of rain here and a dab of rain there...
and so much cooler...
I dressed the scarecrows inside this year...
all the gizmos are from GW Boutique of Paris...
(Goodwill in Paris, Il)
the first top I saw when we went in last week was this one...
and then I found another black with white polka dots!
(you know how I love that pattern)
and the white blouses were brand new with the tags still on them...
the hats were a GW find from last year...
so I got out the big glue gun and my old silver spoon and went to work...
(use an old spoon with the hot glue guns so you don't burn your fingers!)
and there they are...
in all their splendor...
ready for another summer!
the lace was an online rummage find a few weeks ago...
and if you ask about the buttons...
there is a nail through them...
to hold the hats on...
and the buttons act like a washer so the nail doesn't slip through the hat...
the hat on the right is a Liz Claiborne...
the hats are always 50 cents at GW...
so when I find them, I pick them up and put them back...
it could be awhile before we can even mow let alone work in the beds...
glad we hadn't put our garden out yet...
the lake is still behind us and doesn't seem to be going down very fast at all...
side yard is a mini creek now, too...
so...
I will just have to find inside things to keep me busy...
have good days and prayers for all those who are cleaning up or starting all over after the weekend storms...
special prayers for the families of those lost in them...

Tete, All my flower plans are on hold also. I love the outfits...heck I would wear that first one. LOL. Your weather is much like ours. I am praying for all of us getting rain...we are just getting way too much. So many people are in danger of loss.Be safe please. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Love our scarecrows. You know I always do -every year they are fresh and new. That is a lot of rain there, Tete! Wow!!
I don't know WHY OH WHY I never thought of using a spoon with the hot glue. That makes so much sense!!! I have suffered my last burned-to-the-bone finger thanks to you!
Have a great rest of the day. Hope Craig is feeling better after his dentist visit- xo Diana
