a heat wave is coming...

today is our last nice day...
then a week of very hot weather with heat advisories...

I went into my playroom/ storage room yesterday afternoon with one goal in mind...

fill just one garbage bag...
and it didn't take long...

so my plan is to fill one garbage bag every day of the heat advisory...
waiting on the tomatoes to turn!

Susie left me a comment yesterday about not doing any annuals this year...
well, we didn't either...
not one...
we put the money we normally spend on what we end up tossing in the fall on plants that will come back year after year...
annuals have just gotten too expensive around here...
and they just don't last all season...
I think they are starting them too early and are in their prime when they bring them to market...
I may take up her plan of getting artificial flowers and potting them...
:O)
my neighbor has done this for years...
and no one knows...
until the fake leaves blow into someone else's yard!
(Susie, make sure you pull them before a hard frost!  Its a dead give away if you still have blooming plants then with green leaves...)

breakfast this morning was my bran flakes with blueberries...
one of my favorite things...
we have left over green beans, potatoes and bacon for supper...
probably with some smoked sausage...
so my day is pretty much free to do what I want...
(NAP)

Have good days and keep praying for our country...
we need His love and blessings...

Tete, You made me laugh this morning. I loved seeing your beautiful roses. I had a few this year. I tried to remember to use the Seven on the. I didn't get miracle grow on them .:( I did trim lots of bushes and trees. We have lost our redbud tree. and I just saw a big spot on the lilac dying. I always look to see if it those bag worm things. It wasn't. I have to keep those lilacs alive, they came from the old plants my mom had. Green beans and potatoes sounds so good to me. I need to make us some...maybe while we have a big rainy day here. I hope that hurricane rain doesn't linger here. You know the basement is finally dry...of course it's going to rain. LOL Honestly all the rain we had and our lawn is looking so dry. Stay cool. I may do that garbage bag thing today also. Even if it's just shredded old receipts. Got to get busy. Blessings sweet girl, xoxo, Susie

Your green beans with bacon and potatoes sound great! Another yummy for garden season is creamed peas with potatoes. Mmmm! We have 3 blueberry bushes and they produce a lot! We have about 35 cups of berries in the freezer plus have given a lot away to our neighbors. They are easy to grow; I acidify my soil with sulfur and they do fantastic. Enjoy your day! hot here too, a stray shower may come through; I hope so!

It has been a while. Good to see you and your pretty roses too. We are getting more and more into a heat wave. UGH Not my favorite time of year. We need rain too. It clouds up and than poof it is all gone in a moment. More thunder and lightening though. I love all your photos and I do pray for our country every single day. Love and Hugs to you.
