how can this be???

the top 81 songs from 1972...
(some of the best songs of all time, too)
I was 10 years old...
Ok, I get it's been awhile since 1972...
but not 52 years...
do y'all have "sticker shock" like I do?
I think it all started when I turned 50...
my old favorites have been on the oldie channels for a long, long time...
I admit that...
but that number 52 just is so unbelievable...
the one thing that got me "several" years ago was when the songs my kids listened to in high school...
were being played on my oldies station, too...
y'all, that just wasn't right...
I get it's 2024...
I understand I am as old as dirt...
I feel it in my bones every day...
but do they really have to rub my nose in it?
LOL
golly gee, the joys of growing old...
I so understand the eyerolls my parents and grandparents did when they had to deal with my younger generation...
how they could ignore the newest fad and go on with their days...
that they didn't have to be "cool" or "with it" to be happy in their lives...
they just kept on being them...
doing it their way...
and we have to laugh at it all...
how things come full circle in our lives...
how time moves on behind our backs while we are living our lives...
I am so grateful God has been there through all the chapters...
all the ups and downs...
all the joy He has placed in my life through the years...
looking back, it's so easy to see all the happy years...
praying that I continue to see the joy, feel the happy times...
all the way to the finish...
I may never get over my 'sticker shock'...
but, that's ok...
;)
have a wonderfully blessed day...

Good morning Tete, I laughed at your post, so many memories music can bring back. My all time favorite song is The Hollies Long Cool Woman in a black dress. It is about an FBI woman agent and I just love it. Not too many words this morning, Aunt Karen passed away early this morning. Peace came and peace took her. Thank you for your prayers, they still feel good this morning. ~jackiesee~

I'm so glad to hear Aunt Karen is dancing like a teenager. On both legs! Say hi to my brother Billy. He's new to Heaven too.
Tete! You are just a kid! I'll be 74 in April and getting younger every year. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! My brother Jerry who's 4 years younger than me, has backward birthdays. I told him he's getting so young I may have to start changing his diapers again.
We have a FUTURE, precious ones! A lot of folks sadly don't know that.
Here's your assignment, Tete. YouTube everyone of those songs and think of all those sweet memories. We can still dance in our hearts.
