This is what we had left after the flood last spring- and we are still trying to get things back to the way they used to be.
Lost so many plants and bushes- and grass.
We sure don't want to do that again!

Stupid cat trying to fit into a cinder clock she could get into last summer before she added a few pounds.
She's not the only one around here that's done that this winter. We all need to work off a little extra weight.
Transplanted more irises this morning and got all of them out of the hibiscus- they were choking it out, so hopefully we will have blooms this year, but if we don't we will next again.
The beds are really dry and we could use some rain, but the yard still feels soggy.
It was fun to play in the dirt this morning. It was supposed to be 65 today but most of the day it hung around 49.
Steve got the limb pile burnt today and we still have a pile of leaves but was a bit too windy to do them. They blow through the air and we are waiting on a calm day.
Been a lot of fires getting out of control in our area- and the fire depts have been kept busy putting them out. People don't want to wait for calmer days and then they wonder why they lost a garage.
My friends chicks have no liked the cold weather- death toll yesterday was 17 out of 50. That's not too good.

Just a few shadows in the north part of the yard. We worked outside this morning and got all the leaf raking done and transplanted a few iris shoots. Then we dog proofed the porch so Jersey can't get loose anymore.
Craig will head back to Doug's tomorrow afternoon and begin classes again on Monday. It won't be long now till both kids are done with school for the summer and the real fun will begin.
I got sick this afternoon late so I laid down for awhile and finally felt better this evening. Hopefully, I won't wake up that way in the morning and we can spend a fun day with the kids.
Steve and I sowed some grass seed this morning in the south yard- the flood kinda messed up that part of the yard and it has bare spots here and there. Should have done it over the winter, but just didn't think to put grass seed on the shopping list.

Jersey decided if you can't beat the cats around here, join them....she is on the back of the couch in the sun spot that all the cats fight over. We are going to give her another week and if things don't go any better between her and BeBe, then we will find her a good home and try again.

She is a very good dog- just needs someone to spend time with her. She was kenneled 20 out of 24 hours before and she is really good mannered. Its just her and BeBe haven't clicked yet and the idea of getting another dog was for BeBe. She was supposed to be a 3-5 pound poodle mix. She's a good 15-20 pounds and a little larger than I had in mind.

She would perfect for a family with middle sized kids. I wished we had found her when the kids were younger and in middle school.

Its a little cooler today so its laundry day and time to work inside.

Steve got antibiotics from the doctor yesterday- but has to work till 8pm tonight now to make up for the time off yesterday.

Craig has a partially torn calf muscle- which is healing on its own and shouldn't require surgery- just will take a couple more weeks.
