Just click to enlarge...

Steve and Harold are waiting for his discharge and transport this morning...

They got Harold up and in an actual shower- now that he's leaving...PT came in and did their thing- and when they got done with him........
HE CAN WIGGLE HIS FINGERS ON THE RIGHT HAND!
They have him sitting up in a chair now- he breathes better sitting up.
They had to put him on oxygen yesterday and last night. Not sure if he is still on that or not.
Now all he can do is wiggle the fingers- he cannot move the wrist or the arm....but its a start!

Christmas cards we sent this year...

these are so fun and they come with matching envelopes...

The plan is to move Harold tomorrow-

He is going to the Newman nursing home. He is ok with that and ready to start his therapy.

UPDATE:

TALKED TO HAROLD'S NURSE EARLY THIS MORNING- THE NEUROLOGIST CAME IN LATE LAST NIGHT AND TOLD HAROLD HE WOULD HAVE TO GO TO A NURSING HOME AND HAD HIM UPSET- BUT THEY DID GET HIM A SEDATIVE AND HE WAS SLEEPING WELL WHEN I CALLED.
TODAY- STEVE WILL BE UP THERE TO TALK TO THE DRS ABOUT THE TEST RESULTS- THE NURSE WOULD NOT GIVE THAT INFO OUT- AND TO START TALKING TO HAROLD ABOUT THE NURSING HOME.
I WILL START MAKING CALLS THIS MORNING AND START GETTING EVERYTHING READY FOR WHEN THEY DISCHARGE HIM.
HE WILL BE GOING TO NEWMAN- ITS AN EXCELLENT FACILITY WITH A REALLY GOOD PHYSICAL THERAPIST AND ITS SO CLOSE TO US THAT WE CAN DO HIS MEALS AND KEEP A GOOD EYE ON HIM.
I CALLED THEM YESTERDAY AND THEY HAVE A BED FOR HIM.
HE HASN'T HAD A BM SINCE FRIDAY- SO THEY NEED TO BE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THAT AND THAT MAY BE A PERMANENT THING.
THEY DID HAVE HIM UP AND SITTING IN A RECLINER LAST NIGHT AND HE SEEMED TO ENJOY IT EVEN THOUGH HE WAS SO WORN OUT.
THEY DID PULL THE IV THAT WAS PUTTING HIS SODIUM INTAKE OVER THE TOP. HE CAN HAVE HIS RITZ CRACKERS TODAY!
SO, ITS ANOTHER DAY, AND HOPEFULLY HE WON'T BE SO CRANKY ABOUT IT, BUT I DOUBT IT. IT TAKES HIM AWHILE TO GET USED TO NEW IDEAS AND EVEN THOUGH HE ALREADY KNEW HE WOULD HAVE TO GO TO A NURSING HOME NOW, ITS NOT GOING TO BE EASY FOR HIM.
THE REST OF THE WEEK WILL BE GETTING HIM MOVED AND HIS CLOTHES HERE AND MARKED SO STEVE CAN GET THEM UP THERE TO HIM AND DECIDING ON WHAT HE WILL BE TAKING WITH HIM TO THE NURSING HOME. TV AND RECLINER FOR SURE.
WE ARE GOING TO HOLD HIS APT FOR AWHILE AND SEE HOW HE DOES WITH THERAPY.
MORE LATER AS IT UNFOLDS.
