Pink Saturday

I am sharing part of my vintage postcard collection this week for Pink Saturday...
I love the graphics and artwork on these old penny postcards...
this one is embossed...
the talent of these early artists is amazing...
the detail in each one...
the time it must have taken to make sure it was perfect...
and to have the ability to add color to a black and white world...
what a thrill it must have been to have received one of these...
maybe they had just as much fun as I do when I find one that takes my breath away...
Happy Pink Saturday!

pink flowers in my yard this week...

When HE was on the cross I was on HIS mind!

Fall is coming...

the corn is turning fast...
we had visitors today...
Sami...
Rachel...a friend of my son's from school...
I was ready for a nap when they left...
but it was wonderful seeing them all again and meeting Sami...
she's almost 2 and adorable!...
the boys watch Pirates of the Caribbean while they were here...
they are both in school now...
and will start next week and very excited about it...
so is their mom...
well, it's supper time already...
have a good one...

Hello...anybody out there?...

we haven't had any real rain now for so long...
the grass is a little brown...
my rose of sharon is still blooming up a storm...
the bird bath is really being used these last few days...
see the rainbow through the water mist?...
we just got everything watered and Georgie decided to lay in the mud...
Doofus has figured out what the hammock is for...
this is at the north end of the yard in the street...
this is where the street ends...
this is the very northern part of the yard...
and this huge ash tree has always been there...
it has the best and most peaceful shade of all the trees...
this is the dead end stop at the end of the street...
and the railroad ...
on the other side of the railroad the street continues...
for some unknown reason...
many years before we came here...
the city closed the street at the railroad...
the road used to go through....
but I like living at the end of a dead end street...
no through traffic...
which was perfect when the kids were small...
hand puppet...
bunny...
I was  bored...
just hanging out in the yard...
my son asked me if I was going to blog that..
I told him sure!...
there's nothing wrong with having a good time no matter where you are at...
my mom had a saying...
"You either find something to do, or I'll find it for you!"
that almost always meant work...
she wanted us to keep busy and use our imaginations...
and we did...
she also wanted time to clean the house and get the laundry done...
it worked out for both of us...
 she had a clean house...
I turned out a little weird, but creative...
have a fun day and play with the shadows...

Versatile Blogger Award

I received this award from my best friend, Rebecca, this morning...
according to the format...
I must list 7 things about myself...
and then pass this on to 7 other bloggers who I think is great...
so here goes:

1. I'm a tomboy.
I have always been one.
I used to work on cars with my dad.
I would rather climb a tree than do a tea.

2. I used to coach little league.
I love baseball.
I was the president of the LL for 3 years after I coached for 8.

3. I collect vintage toys.

4. I love all colors...
just certain shades of them.

5. I love riding with the window down.
And my head hanging out to catch the wind.

6. I love genealogy.
It's putting the puzzle together.
Besides, dead people have never bothered me.
The live ones are another story...

7. I write poetry.
I have been published in the US.
I have also been published in Europe.

So, that's enough about me...
here are 7 super wonderful blogs that I look at daily...
I pass this Vesatile Blogger Award onto:

Lynette at The Imaginative Traveler
Her photos are awesome and she has so much to share with the world.

Darla at Sparkle Plenty
This lady is down home all the way- with a wonderful home and a dog named Tyson who can get into a little trouble every now and then.

The Finicky Frog
This is just a fun blog in the daily life of a creative blogger.

Kathy at A Delightsome Life
This girl has more energy and is always joining in on the blog parties.  She is full of inspiration.

Cheryl at ZanyMayd
She's clever, crafty and so sweet!

Debbie at House at the Lake
Awe, Debbie- I love this girl.  She is the sweetest person and her home is lovely.
She always leaves the best comments and a day without her would be a sad day indeed.

Beth at Beyond the Garden Gate
My twin!- We are so much alike it's scary and for both of us to choose the same name for our blogs is unreal.  Her gardens are breath taking.  I know she doesn't want awards, but I couldn't pass this on and not include her.

Everyone of these blogs, and many more, brighten each and every day for me.  There is hope, understanding, support and love in these bloggers.
I hope you take the time to check all of them out.
You will never be the same again.

Thanks, Rebecca, for this chance to lift up these fine ladies!
Now all these bloggers need to do is copy the award and post it on their blogs with a list of 7 things about themselves and 7 other bloggers to pass this award onto.
