we're workin' it...

started out the morning early...
there was a heat advisory issued for us...
we later found out it is for tomorrow...
but it got us out and moving sooner than we would have...
pulled everything out of the rocked areas and raked...
picked up sticks...
put things back...
I have 5 vintage windows and a couple chair coushins...
hosed them off...
cleaning kind of day...
cleaned off and out the cold frames...
things are still growing...
and filling in...
Craig washing out the birdbath...
we have dirty birds here...
we tied up the tomatoes...
which have little ones on them and full of blooms...
we started out here and worked our way around to the other side...
washing the under pinning...
it was going green...
and not in the good way...
after a late breakfast...
I headed back out again...
I sat on the deck, but not for long...
no breeze here today...
so I got a couple more photos...
this made me smile...
it just exploded in blooms today...
and a baby praying mantis...
I do not like them...
they kill humming birds...
my light pink knock out rose..
there were some clouds...
and the trees gave welcome shade...
and this is on my list of things to do this summer...
going white...

hope you had a fun day...

spoiled rotten babies...

you can see the humidity in the air tonight...
but the plants seem to like it...
at least these do...
Kirbie...
sniffin' the air...
one of the neighbors' grill smells were in the air...
he thinks with his tummy, for sure...
Kamie...
doing good...
eating good and using the potty box...
and Katie after her bath...
she is the runt and a little slower than the others at doing things...
but she's learning...
and still has a loose stool, from the milk...
and changing her diet...
keeping them one more week until I can get her straightened out...
she lapped water for the first time yesterday...
mixing moist cat food with hard kitten and will slowly remove the soft food this next week...
they are all so small, so will be small cats...
their momma must have been so tiny...
they are about half the size of normal kittens their age...
Katie's a momma's girl, for sure and she knows her name...
and another photo of the pavers...
found them at a rummage sale and so I went into Home Depot and they have the same thing...
so we are thinking of getting more and doing the whole walk way...
we will need more when the new deck goes in, too...

rummage sale find....

remember these?
a wonderful lady here in town had a rummage sale...
and she posted things a couple days before on facebook...
and I left her a message right away...
"How Much?"
$25 for 95 of them...
"I want them!"
so this morning, me and my guys loaded into the little truck...
and headed her way...
we went late so we wouldn't bother her other customers...
and picked them up...
Craig came up with the pattern...
Craig handed them out of the back of the truck and DH laid them down...
they are now covering our old cracked concrete...
I happy danced on it first thing...
and you know how I like the old, loved a long time look...
the ones at the stores look too new...
my guys are awesome!
looking for baby tomatoes...
not yet...
day lilies opening and filling the yard with splashes of color...
and I have all the same kind...
except for 2 that came from a friend...
they weren't open this morning...
the cone flowers are bursting with color, too...
and looky here at DH's coleus bloom...
he happy danced, too...

mower guy came and did his thing awhile ago...
started heating up out there in the sun...
we were in the shade on ours hind ends weeding when he came...
so we hurried up and picked it all up and got out of his way...

no big plans for the rest of the weekend...
just the grocery store...
doing it local this week...
don't need much...

Have a great weekend!

weeding around the birdbath...

this morning, we were sitting on our butts...
but in a really good place in the shade...
with friends...
hoeing and pulling...
smelling the flowers...
taking pictures...
and I sat here and prayed this morning for all of you...
whatever you are dealing with today...
for an extra bit of joy to be sent your way...
and I thought about all the dreams we have and the plans...
for something better...
prettier...
those things we long for that just make us smile...
and this thought came to me...
DREAM BIG...
because God does everything BIG...
it's not too hard for Him...
weed out the problems...
the things that hold you back...
prune the best parts...
because it only makes it grow better...
sometimes, less is more...
and keep reaching in faith...
and leave your shadow behind so others will know that you were there...
be fruitful...
smile...
just smile...
when you are alone...
answering the phone...
walking down the street...
sing...
keep them guessing and give the neighbors something to talk about...
and keep dreaming...
don't forget the best part about blessings...
they are so much better when you share them with others...
;)
