from the last couple of days...

not a whole lot going on around here except for fall...

but that's enough for me!

spent the afternoon in these...

waiting for a phone call about my step mom...

still no word...

not sure what's going on...

surely someone would have called if something had...

still praying...

God's there...

and He has it under control...

but in the meantime...

He gave us a sweatshirt kind of day...

we have rain coming the next 3 days, so wanted to be out here as much as I could...

corn stalks blow in from everywhere around here...

and our mower guy showed up this afternoon, too...

he buried his father yesterday, so wasn't able to get to us last week...

praying for his family, too...

seasons come and seasons go...

and we all must bloom and we all must wither...

to be reborn again in the new spring...

so fitting for the day, couldn't leave it there...

after the photo shoot, dude...

yeah, cruelty to animals just hit a new low...

we had a great day yesterday...

the other Goodwill finds were 4 mens long sleeve dress shirts for me...

to garden in...

we ate out for lunch and supper...

took walks and a drive...

napped...

and just enjoyed the day...

until the phone call from my step mom...

God's plans are not always our plans...

and we are all leaving this world behind us one of these days...

she just wanted to live long enough to see dad through his time here...

but you just don't know how God works these things out...

not until you are walking daily in the struggles...

and they wouldn't be such a struggle if we trusted him more...

please keep her in your prayers...

if this isn't fixable...

and her days are fewer than what we had planned them to be...

maybe, just maybe...

she's the one He is protecting...

because if dad goes first...

she would be so lost without him...

his dementia is a blessing sometimes...

he is so unaware...

if she passes first, he will deal with it better than the rest of us...

I know that sometimes when we are blind sided with trials and tribulations...

that we lose our footing and feel like we are about to fall...

but there are arms, strong arms that reach out and catch us...

just fall into those arms...

its the safest place to be...

I just got a call from my step mom...

she is in the hospital...

they found colon cancer...

there is a mass outside the colon, too...

surgery Monday to see what it is and how much...

please, please pray...

today is our anniversary...

DH got the day off...

during harvest even!
