rolling thunder, trees bending low and rain...

got a few shots before the storms moved in this morning...

it has been about a week since we have had any...
so this is a good rain...

I know many are flooded across the east central area...
but we did need this here...

Myra...

is turning  into a mama's baby after all...

still blooming...

and the clouds start rolling in...

moved up to the deck just in time for the rain to start...
I actually got cold sitting out there...
when we got up, it was 83 and 93% humidity...
now its 73...
and its still raining...
the slow steady kind...
but the storms are not big and this will pass soon...
it will be miserable when the sun comes out again...
Craiger works 4-10 today...
DH and I are doing pizza tonight...
I think...
unless he has a better idea when he gets home...
so off I go...
we just ate the last of the green beans...
yeah, they were good...
should have another mess to cook off by the weekend...
did I ever tell you?
life is good on the prairie...
;)
have a good one!

hanging out in the kitchen this morning...

Doug brought me this last weekend...
I have a thing for sock monkeys, you know...
I think I will name her Matilda...

I think this needs changed up...
going to be working on that...
printed off some more recent photos and we'll see what happens...

moved my funky bird over here....
I like it...

had to go over to the desk to print the photos out...
so took this while I was there...

and just some more junque around here...

you know, I get 97% of my stuff from rummage sales, don't you?

another 1% I make...
upcycling...
just some old shoe boxes that got prettied up to stick things in that I don't want anyone to see...

its hot...
its humid...
and it looks like rain but hasn't happened yet...
both of my guys are working today...
and I am still sitting here in my night gown...
its not noon yet, so no disgrace...

just did peanut butter and jelly for an early lunch...
(and it was so good)
and I am thinking of putting all the cats out and taking a nap...
that way I only have to share the bed with Bebe...
and no one walks on my face just when I get good and asleep...

been praying for the families of the 29 firefighters this morning...
seen an image that I just can't get out of my mind...
it was of all the hearst lined up in a row going down a highway...
so many of them were younger than my own kids...
heavy hearts always need prayer...
just to get through the days after...

feeling really blessed this morning for all that we have...
all the things that money cannot buy...
the important things...

just take some time today to whisper thank you...
it means a lot to Him...
;)

Happy Monday to everyone!

got up a little early this morning and heading out here...

it was already humid and muggy...

but it has stayed overcast and sprinkles happen every now and then...

sunflowers from the birdseed...

yucca pods...

the yard is dotted with orange...

the corn is over head high now...

Craig's been soaking his feet...

he's got a couple of blisters...

and he had a cart run over his heal and take the hide off...

but other than that, he survived pretty good...

this means its time to feed the cats...
so serious...

we are out of paint (again)...
so will have to wait to finish this...

this was last night...
it got a little warm out yesterday, but it was a dry warm...
today is yucky...
and we could use a tiny bit of rain...
can you believe we went 5 days without it?
;)
hope your Monday is super fun...

just a lazy Sunday here...

I have been wondering if the birds were using this or not...
never see any around it...
but I guess they are...

this was my morning project today...

so DH helped me move a fence section in here...
now, after sitting here looking at it...
know I can do this area better...
so the digging will begin out here soon...
taking it all out and putting things back...
a little expansion...
not much...

the radish before I picked this morning...

dead headed the lilies on the backside of the shed...
got the rest of the columbine, too...
then to the knock out rose...
saved my petals for this winter...

that's a mixing bowl they are in...
had to quarter that big one...

I saw a wasp nest inside the birdhouse...
I am going to find some sticks and grass to fill the hole with...
to keep them out...

Craig had a good day at work yesterday...
his face was a little red when he got home and his feet hurt...
he ate supper and went to bed...
this morning, his face was fine and he was ready to go again...
he won't be off until 7pm...
DH and I are enjoying the quiet...
its the first weekend day that we haven't had much to do in a long time...
hope your day was a good one!
;)

hope your weekend is a good one for you...

the third row of bean greens are up and growing with all the rain and cooler weather...

baby garden spider has set up housekeeping right in front of the scarecrow...

things are coming along and we have another cloudy, dreary and humid morning here...

hosta...

sweet pea...

cone flowers...

Pooder...in trouble again...

knock out rose...

ferns and hygrangea...

then the light was coming in so nice yesterday evening that I just shot a few things...

Craig is working today...

Doug and his friend, Paula, are coming up for supper tonight...

got some house cleaning to do before they get here...

see, I have a rooster here...

our neighbor's working on Oakland's first fire truck...
1934...
they had to get the radiator fixed, put it back in and had it running last night...

she has been stored for years...
I started posting for donations last night to help them with the costs...
the goal is to get her up and running for parades...
;)
and to save a piece of local history...

this is the 'NOW' project!
turning it pink...
the rear end is so messed up, it will hardly roll...
going to take the seat off...
and keep painting it until its all pink...
too damp this morning to add another layer...
you know how that goes...
;)

well, off to try to be productive here...
wish me luck...
