a good day...

a swallowtail catapillar...
isn't it pretty?
in the radish and carrot greens...

so we began this morning taping off and painting...
that is until Myra decided to move the babies...
Craig noticed only 3 babies on his way out the door...
so we had to do a search and rescue, so we got a later start...
but this was my job...

and the railing...
the guys took to the ladder and the high places...

the deck and steps will be stained later on...

along with the rafters...
its going to look so good when we get it finished...

Myra hid the baby under Craig's bed...
and that's not a good thing...
you would think the place would have scared her off...
we turned the heating pad off and I think they were getting too warm...
so she wanted them out of there...
things are good now...

we painted until noon, did lunch and then started in on our bedroom and master bath...
that took a bit...
curtains washed, but not the walls...
that will come later...
and want to knock the bed down and clean under, behind and all of that...
but that can be done in the winter...

heading back out to the deck in the morning to work again until it gets too hot...
I would like to get this knocked out this weekend...
but things don't always go as planned...
;)
heading out for a walk now...
saw a major shooting star last night, so maybe I will see one again...

got a full weekend in store...

I hope...

if I can move...

and I can get the guys motivated...

got some pickins from here yesterday morning...

not much, but that's the last of the fresh green beans...
enough to fill a quart bag...
hope they have some in the produce section of the store...

the rose of sharon is coming to its end soon...
the summer days are quickly ticking away...

we have some pretty warm weather happening now...
and will continue through at least the next ten days...

no rain = no mowing this weekend...
all the green beans are pulled and cleared away...
worked on the front bed last night...
raking leaves and cutting back...
the yard is a mixture of summer and fall...
so we are painting, picking up and grilling out today for sure...
laundry and vacuuming...
playing a teeny tiny bit with the babies...
a week old today...
so hope your weekend is good for you...
and that you get all that you want done and still have time for a nap!
;)

this is what I was taught and how I was raised, a proud cherokee descendant...

NATIVE AMERICAN CODE OF ETHICS

Rise with the sun to pray. Pray alone. Pray often.
The Great Spirit will listen, if you only speak.

~
Be tolerant of those who are lost on their path.
Ignorance, conceit, anger, jealousy and greed stem
from a lost soul. Pray that they will find guidance.
~
Search for yourself, by yourself. Do not allow others
to make your path for you. It is your road, and
yours alone. Others may walk it with you,
but no one can walk it for you.
~
Treat the guests in your home with much consideration.
Serve them the best food, give them the best
bed and treat them with respect and honor.
~
Do not take what is not yours whether from
a person, a community,the wilderness or from a
culture. It was not earned nor given. It is not yours.
~
Respect all things that are placed upon
this earth – whether it be people or plant.
~
Honor other people’s thoughts, wishes and words.
Never interrupt another or mock or rudely mimic them.
Allow each person the right to personal expression.
~
Never speak of others in a bad way. The negative
energy that you put out into the universe
will multiply when it returns to you.
~
All persons make mistakes.
And all mistakes can be forgiven.
~
Bad thoughts cause illness of the mind,
body and spirit. Practice optimism.
~
Nature is not FOR us, it is a PART of us.
They are part of your worldly family.
~
Children are the seeds of our future. Plant
love in their hearts and water them with
wisdom and life’s lessons. When they
are grown, give them space to grow.
~
Avoid hurting the hearts of others.
The poison of your pain will return to you.
~
Be truthful at all times. Honesty is the
test of one’s will within this universe.
~
Keep yourself balanced. Your Mental self, Spiritual
self, Emotional self, and Physical self – all need
to be strong, pure and healthy. Work out
the body to strengthen the mind. Grow
rich in spirit to cure emotional ails.
~
Make conscious decisions as to who
you will be and how you will react. Be
responsible for your own actions.
~
Respect the privacy and personal space of
others. Do not touch the personal property of
others – especially sacred and religious
objects. This is forbidden.
~
Be true to yourself first. You cannot
nurture and help others if you cannot
nurture and help yourself first.
~
Respect others religious beliefs.
Do not force your belief on others.
~
Share your good fortune with others.
Participate in charity.

so much for a peaceful day...

but before I get into all of that...
lets see what's going on outside...
those are tomatoes...
beef masters...

and so are these...
roma 2s...

yesterday's pickings...
finally starting to turn for us...

and in the lots across from us...
this was blooming...

autumn clematis...

and its the sweetest smelling thing ever...

and it grows over everything there and right up the trees...

back in our yard, the mums are still trying to open...

and it all looks so nice...

my lunch yesterday...
left overs from Sunday...
I cannot eat lettuce anymore, so this is my version...

and this morning when I let Myra out...
I found the babies in a pile...

napping away...
dreaming...
those little butts and feet were twitching so much...

isn't that just precious?

future 20 pounders...
I know there are only four there...
we lost one last evening...
no rhyme or reason...
just that God wanted it back...
did CPR on it twice and the heart stopped again...
so let it go...

I need prayers today...
we are facing yet another conflict with Christmas Is A Child...
(My son, Craig, is head of this now and I have been with from the ground floor.  It is a toy donation and distribution program that we work on for area children so that no child wakes to nothing under the tree on Christmas morning.)
there is a conflict with the building...
double booking...
what's done is done...
but, I am not sure if its the devil trying to knock us down...
or God trying to move us on...
to something better...
I have been on the phone all day and Craig is at work and doesn't have a clue...
trying to resolve things and have options for him when he gets home...
pray for us that the answer comes soon and that His will will be done...

I am in a full fibro flair with this today...
praying for peace within...
I know he has this...
but confrontation with people this morning is not something that I can do anymore...
the least bit of stress leads to problems for me...
its in His hands...
these are His children...
they are all our children...
and they matter...

UPDATE:
GOD IS GOOD...
WE HAVE OUR ANSWER!

baby pics...

this one is the first born...

it is a darker orange than this shows...

russian blue...

I think this one was the second one out...

here is the 3rd one out...

looks a lot like mama...

this is the last one out...
born yesterday right about dinner time...

this one is very pale...
so not hard telling it apart from the first born...

this is number 4...

looks like a little clown face...

and the all you can eat buffet is open 24/7...
currently serving 5...

Myra is such a good mama...
she is taking very good care of them...

and they are huge babies...

the stray toms around here are big enough to ride...

so these are going to be like daddy...
big...
they get around very good, considering they can't see where they are going yet...
so everyone is doing really good...
and its so nice to not have to bottle feed...

just came back from a walk and the neighbor's fall clematis is blooming...
smells so good...
pick tomatoes earlier and we need to get caught up in here...
second load of laundry in and got to get moving here...
have a good day!
