adorable coming at you...

guess who's eyes are open now?

all doing great...

3 were a week old on Saturday and the other on Sunday...

had to clean out the cage and do a photo shoot...

so this is their first time outside...

they love to cuddle...

and climb...

sweet...

paws...

and there is always one that is different...
always...
;)
waiting on a call...
got a frantic one this morning...
6 babies in bad shape and she said she needed the expert...
LOL...
when the vet can't save them, they bring them here...
???
I don't know about that...
but my mamie taught me how to fatten anything up that comes through that door...
mamie...
now there's a story there...
got into a kick when I was about 3 years old calling my mom...
"mamie"...
I blame it on the little rascals...
but she hated it...
and then she got used to it...
so when I was older, every now and then, I would yell MAMIE!
oh, I would get THE LOOK...
you know the one...
and I would act like I had said a cuss a word and scared for my life...
and she would do THE LOOK again and then crack a teeny tiny little smile...
did your mom use THE LOOK to keep you in line?
they don't seem to do that anymore, do they?
shame...
of course it meant your butt was getting spanked when you got home...
and you would be grounded FOREVER...
and you would be washing walls...
you know, we did always have the cleanest walls in town...
not that I was bad or anything like that...
;)
have a good day...

the worst is done...I think...

got a pizza in the oven, so have a little time here to show you what we got done today...

DH wants the rafters stained with the floor...

Craig(son) masking off...

and then DH and Craig painting on the back side...
almost done for the day...

we let things dry...

I think they can knock out the staining in one weekend, too...

it looks so much better...

we went back out this afternoon and moved everything back...

I love it...

we ran out of paint, so have to grab another gallon to finish up...

we have the spaces in between the lattice and the right railing...

we brought the sheets and table cloth in to wash...
its really bright and hot out there without them up to block the sun...

so they will go back up tonight or in the morning...

painting is such hard work...

at least he didn't get into it this time...

looks so fresh...

and then here are the bloomers from today...

we went for a walk and looked back from the end of the street...
awesome!

going to move the house numbers to the other side...

and here is what Doug and Paula gave me last weekend for my birthday!
see the glitter?
its ok...
it will be outside...

got some great photos of the kitties today, too...
but will post those tomorrow...
;)

a good day...

a swallowtail catapillar...
isn't it pretty?
in the radish and carrot greens...

so we began this morning taping off and painting...
that is until Myra decided to move the babies...
Craig noticed only 3 babies on his way out the door...
so we had to do a search and rescue, so we got a later start...
but this was my job...

and the railing...
the guys took to the ladder and the high places...

the deck and steps will be stained later on...

along with the rafters...
its going to look so good when we get it finished...

Myra hid the baby under Craig's bed...
and that's not a good thing...
you would think the place would have scared her off...
we turned the heating pad off and I think they were getting too warm...
so she wanted them out of there...
things are good now...

we painted until noon, did lunch and then started in on our bedroom and master bath...
that took a bit...
curtains washed, but not the walls...
that will come later...
and want to knock the bed down and clean under, behind and all of that...
but that can be done in the winter...

heading back out to the deck in the morning to work again until it gets too hot...
I would like to get this knocked out this weekend...
but things don't always go as planned...
;)
heading out for a walk now...
saw a major shooting star last night, so maybe I will see one again...

got a full weekend in store...

I hope...

if I can move...

and I can get the guys motivated...

got some pickins from here yesterday morning...

not much, but that's the last of the fresh green beans...
enough to fill a quart bag...
hope they have some in the produce section of the store...

the rose of sharon is coming to its end soon...
the summer days are quickly ticking away...

we have some pretty warm weather happening now...
and will continue through at least the next ten days...

no rain = no mowing this weekend...
all the green beans are pulled and cleared away...
worked on the front bed last night...
raking leaves and cutting back...
the yard is a mixture of summer and fall...
so we are painting, picking up and grilling out today for sure...
laundry and vacuuming...
playing a teeny tiny bit with the babies...
a week old today...
so hope your weekend is good for you...
and that you get all that you want done and still have time for a nap!
;)

this is what I was taught and how I was raised, a proud cherokee descendant...

NATIVE AMERICAN CODE OF ETHICS

Rise with the sun to pray. Pray alone. Pray often.
The Great Spirit will listen, if you only speak.

~
Be tolerant of those who are lost on their path.
Ignorance, conceit, anger, jealousy and greed stem
from a lost soul. Pray that they will find guidance.

Search for yourself, by yourself. Do not allow others
to make your path for you. It is your road, and
yours alone. Others may walk it with you,
but no one can walk it for you.
~
Treat the guests in your home with much consideration.
Serve them the best food, give them the best
bed and treat them with respect and honor.
~
Do not take what is not yours whether from
a person, a community,the wilderness or from a
culture. It was not earned nor given. It is not yours.

this earth – whether it be people or plant.
~
Honor other people’s thoughts, wishes and words.
