just getting around slow today...

yesterday was all about naps for these little ones...
they play so hard in spurts and then crash...

it was a sunny but chilly day out there...

but the sunshine was awesome...

little faces...
posted Gabbie, the one we call old yeller, online today...
she is looking for her human...
2 are adopted now, and if I can find a home for her soon...
Annie can stay with me...

even had time to do my nails...
I have got such dry skin now after the antibiotics and being sick...
lotion and water is not helping much...

its raining here today...
but in the 50s...
birds have been so busy at the feeders this morning...

what do you do on a rainy day?
paint!
remember the white plastic eggs I picked up at walmart the last time out?

well, they aren't white anymore...

blues and tans...

3 of each shade...

they will look so pretty when I get them done...
speckled tomorrow after they cure over night...

making plans for this pile...
got some general ideas...
thinking up a cheap solution for pillows...
going to buy some standard pillows, but them in half and then slip cover them with this...
with lace trim, of course...
then I can just peel the cases off and wash them and put them back on without a lot of fuss...

a very wet squirrel...
using his tail for an umbrella...
isn't that sweet?

got up with a sore throat and sniffles this morning, hunky cough, too...
so called the dr again and going in at 8:30 in the morning...
going to talk about the blood sugar again and about that stupid pill he put me on...
which I ain't takin'!
doing 1/2 of a metformin in the morning here and the other 1/2 later this afternoon, to kind of spread it out and to cover the evening to night times...
other than that, a pretty boring day...
just got done with lunch, so heading in to take a nap...
kitchen is all cleaned up, too!
will throw a load of  laundry in when I get up...
doing the rest of the veggie soup and sandwiches tonight for supper...
still have sliced strawberries and cantaloupe, too...
we will have to cook this weekend again, and I am thinking chinese will be in there somewhere...
you all have a fun weekend if I don't hear from you until Monday...

a simple request...

while the majority of us are anxiously awaiting spring and all the grandeur of it...
there is a family that wishes time would slow down a bit...
I posted about them before, Mr & Mrs P...
they just picked out the stone for the baby Mrs P is carrying...
a baby who is kicking and stretching...
even getting hiccups...

and the cemetery plot...
in a small cemetery a lot like this one...
one that is just down the road from their new home...
so the baby will be close by to them as they live out their lives here...

they bought their new home at the end of last year...
rushing around trying to have it ready before the baby came...
but things have been put on hold, and now the move will come after...
a larger home for a growing family...
with a nursery...
this is their 4th child...
all 5 and under...
the baby has Potter's Syndrome...
the kidneys didn't develop, not producing urine to fill the sack...
which develops the lungs...
the infant could be stillborn, but there is a greater chance it will be born alive...
but will die soon after...
they know they have to give this baby back...
they are strong in their faith, but something like this knocks you to the ground...
if you could, every time you think of spring...
make plans for the garden...
watch the snow melt and the grass green...
just say a simple prayer for them...
and remember that whatever you are going through at that moment...
may not be so bad after all...

what a day it was...

we woke to white on the ground...
hopefully for the last time...

it was a normal enough weekday morning...
and I got up and took my meds...
ate breakfast and then trouble began...
the new medicine knocked the bottom out of my glucose...

and it was dropping fast...
so I called the dr's office, they would get back to me...
so I called DH home...

dr's office called back and said if it gets below 80, to call them back...
I didn't let that happen...

normally, 100 or below is a good starting number before any meal...
two hours after your meal, you peak, and this could go as high as the 180s...
which is fine as long as before the next meal you are at 100 or below...
now you don't want to get down in the 60s or less...
waking reading was 143...
a little high, but not bad...
breakfast should have added 40...
so my two hour mark should have been in the 180s...
and then the meds should start helping and have it down before lunch...
but, when I checked it, it was 98...
I drank pop, which should have jumped it up quick...
its a fast burn...
103...
not high or fast enough...
so the eating began...
DH came home in case it fell lower...
it went on like this until mid afternoon...
finally, it leveled off and stayed up...
after supper, I checked again...
and the meds let it rise, like it should after a meal...
and then I have checked again this morning, and it is dropping back down...
like it should...
so...
no more of this new medicine he gave me...
it also had my heart racing...
do not like that at all...
calling him back today and telling them that I am not taking that one again...
unless my glucose levels are extremely high...
like in the 300s...

feeling so grateful for DH and for him always being there when I need him...
never starting a new med when I am home alone...
;)
today is going to be a better day...
blessings to you!

another day on the prairie...

yesterday was a recovery day for me...
to prevent a flair...
look at the colors in the blue jay...
I finally got a photo of him...

they nest in the tall trees along the railroad...

and I caught the tip of orange in the wing...
we are going through a bag of bird seed a week now...

of course, it wasn't all bird watching...
the pads of paper I got last time Craig and I were shopping...
I photo copied the ones I liked...
so I can use them over and over again...

and the bird house snagged at another outing...

and this is phase one...
set it up to dry over night and will start in on it again later today...

pop secret popcorn is awesome...
great snack...

and these are what's putting holes in me legs!

between that and wanting to nap on me...
you know it takes a lot to climb me...

I just pulled up a kitchen chair and threw a towel on it...

and started piling them on it...
it worked!
they took all their naps there...
they were happy that they were right beside me...

left overs were on the menu for supper last night...
this is finally all gone...

with cole slaw...
its is yummy...

'look into my eyes'
'you want to take me home'
going up for adoption this week...
they are ready...

her eyes are turning green...
going to be so pretty as an adult...
and that's the way it went...
called the dr's office and my blood work is ok...
he cut me back to one metformin and day and added one glipi-zide...
not sure this will work, but will give it a shot...
and...
I was better today, so am waiting a few more days...
mucus isn't green anymore...

now, my tummy problems and the dizziness...
could be the metformin...
also have some blurry vision, or rather, things just aren't focusing...
have to cut out some of my computer time...

I am back in hibernation mode...
too dern cold for me out there...
I am a wimp already!
;)
blessings to you...

Monday madness...

good morning from Raggedy Annie...
she is a cuddler...

been too cold to play outside...
and snow coming in tonight and tomorrow?
who are they trying to kid?
that's the forsythia out there...
just waiting for it to turn bright yellow...
that should scare off winter...

I do belief its time to get a new thermometer...
there's no way it hit that yesterday...

got 4 days in a row that I will be home alone...
see the face on the backside of the dove?

got some ideas stirring around in my head...
and they involve these...

its going to fun to see how they turn out...
you will have to keep coming back to find out...

most of the vertigo I had yesterday has faded...
I am thinking I am going to need another round of antibiotics to kick the rest of this...
its so close to being done, but a tiny bit keeps hanging on with both hands...

may your blessings be more than your burdens today...
;)
