winter prairie roads & dirty snow...

happy weekend!

I had DH take be for a drive this morning...

I haven't been out of the house all week...

and it finally made it to 30 this morning...

so off we went...

before the rain started...

and things get real interesting on the back roads...

supposed to change to freezing rain...

then sleet...

and then snow...

took Charlie with us...

he is still nervous about car rides...

but getting better all the time...

see...

in the mirror...

got his hoodie on...

when we hit the back roads...

I roll the window down...

crank up the heat and cover my legs with a throw and off we go...

Charlie is liking the air blowing in his face...

might make a dog out of him yet...

(he thinks he's a cat)

sometimes we just creep along the fields...

and I holler "whoa" if I see a shot...

DH is so good at it now...

and he likes the pics we get...

we make a good team...

hope you week ahead is a good one...

should be much warmer by next weekend...

we might even get out of town...

a blast from the past...

that's our son, Doug, cooking hot dogs for the other kids...

back in the early 90s...

"Christmas On The Square" used to be an awesome event for our little town...

and that's the A's...

our little league team...

Doug is the first on in the very back row, right next to his dad- the coach...

and Craig is the second one from the left on the bottom row...

and here they are in the last year...

they finished up number 1!

DH and I coached the A's for 8 years...

before I went on to be president of the little league and pony league...

back when I could move and do things...

LOL

Tom and Abby used to run our local paper...

and too soon, they were taken from us...

Tom first, in an auto accident...

Abby carried on alone for many years until cancer took her...

there is a new editor who found all these old photos...

and a couple of "kids" stepped up to download them all and put them on a new facebook page so we could all have the images...

that Tom and Abby took through the years...

for the paper...

for us...

they attended every event in town and caught it all on film...

and now its on the net...

I wonder if they knew?

that these photos would be so loved over and over again?

there's something blocking my view...

like this angel wind chime that Craig got me for Christmas...

but she's not going out until it warms up a bit!

polar bears would be freezing their behinds off in this...

and that's a lot to freeze!

Annie got sick last night...

so Missy and her are on antibiotics...

vet says they can catch colds and flu like we do...

they are both feeling better tonight...

but its been a long day...

the fuzzy one had to give up her kennel for Annie...

so been baby sitting her all day...

and she has tried to get into everything...

handed her off to Craig a bit ago so I can head for bed, so I had better get going...

got so much to catch up on tomorrow...

good sleeps!

its that time again...

time to freeze...

took these Sunday during the snow fall...

and we got more last night so the ground is covered now...

its bitter cold out, too...

but the good news is...

only 74 more days until spring...

and it will go by fast...

and we'll be back to swatting bugs in no time...

I am not getting back outside until the weekend when it warms up some...

getting a new exhaust put on the truck tomorrow...

Craig blew a hole in it right around Christmas...

and its really loud...

but we always now when he's home!

not doing much today...

still on the antibiotics and had a ton of drainage this morning...

so they are working...

I did get the baby bathed this morning...

fuzzball likes baths...

and blow dried her so she is so puffy right now...

I really need to get caught up on the blog hopping today...

and get a nap in...

after lunch...

so have a good day and stay warm...

Charlie's a butt...

we caught Annie nursing on the throw that Doug and Paula got me for Christmas...

(I have yet to use it)

then Charlie came from out of the blue and grabbed the end and rolled her up in it...

after he danced around on top of her, he dug her out...

to play...

but all she wanted was to take a nap...

he kept picking on her and she finally played...

these two are best buddies...

normally...

but he rolled her up again...

and danced on top of her...

again...

and then dug her out...

again...

because Charlie has claimed this throw as his...

as soon as I opened it up, he was on it...

and Miss Annie gave up on the soft throw for some peace and quiet...

because Charlie can't jump...

and she finally got her nap...

made a trip to the walk in clinic yesterday afternoon for antibiotics...

sinus infection and it was in my ears, too...

so will get this stopped before it spreads into my chest...

so many were there and so sick sounding...

hope I don't get that stuff...

rain and fog here all day...

really foggy this morning...

we missed the ice and sleet yesterday...

stayed warm enough for it all to be rain...

won't be so lucky later in the week, but nothing will be falling then but the temps...

I am going to head back to bed for a bit and try to sleep in this morning...

if the critters would just leave me be on the weekends!
