one of those where you are waiting on a phone call...

and then if finally comes...

so now what to do with the rest of the day?

this late in the game...

I am leaning toward naptime...

I should be up when the guys start coming in...

and we are doing a fend for yourself night...

(clean out the fridge night)

so that in the morning, I can work on that without as much in there...

I could do a load of laundry, too...

but then there would be nothing to do tomorrow...

so, I shall wait...

only one more day until Craig starts a week of vacation...

spending it right here with us...

cleaning and sorting and purging...

looks like an ice storm this weekend for us...

yeah...

but it won't last too long and it will warm back up and melt it all away...

the birds are not happy at all with them...

we have 3 regulars that hang out here all the time...

but yesterday morning, there were 9 out there...

now don't go saying...

"oh, those poor babies need to eat, too!"

those poor babies get their own pile of corn every day...

and then they decide to throw a party with the birds' share...

mama's going to fix that just as soon as the wind dies down...

I'm taking my trusty can of PAM out there...

greasing up the old hook and roof of the feeder, I am...

greasing it up until its slicker than owl pooh on a doorknob!

I opened the front door and hollered squirrel soup is on the menu for tonight...

you should have seen them run...

bwahahahaha....

don't tell me they don't understand sarcasm...

that's what ya get for shakin' that tail at me...

on another note here...

the snow melted overnight...

and when I got up, it was 41...

but there's always a twist here on the prairie...

windy with gusts up to 50mph!

well, got some house cleaning to do around here...

things to put away...

clutter happens...

when a son leaves things here and there...

a mom's work is never done...

when winter happens...

I keep my butt inside!

we've had a week of bitter cold here...

but I see there are 50s coming our way...

our latest addition...

I am tired and weary, but we have made so much progress inside...

I just need a few days of rest and peace and quiet!

I am doing pretty good considering all of the overload that's been going on...

I keep pushing myself a bit too much...

and I know better...

but I am so thankful for what we have been able to do here...

and I so can't wait to get back out there...

in the yard...

the flower beds...

one good thing about winter...

NO BUGS!

going to do some housework today...

more laundry...

because it keeps multiplying!

I do need to mop the kitchen floor and Steve needs to get the bird feeder filled up again...

got a whole bunch of trash bags and a toilet going to the curb for tomorrow morning pick up...

I think the whole house needs vacuumed...

and then there's the dusting again...

might even cook today...

will there be time for napping?

hope 2017 is a good one for all of us!

so tired and sore...

busy last four days here...

came to the conclusion that we just don't have the health or the room for our niece to come live with us...

and I had to tell her this morning...

she seemed ok with it...

will make other arrangements out there...

have had DH to help me here since last Thursday afternoon...

and we have clean and organized extra bedroom again...

(aka my playroom)

we have a good pile going to auction...

getting a mini bathroom make over this week, too...

but hiring that done...

and should be done in one day...
