some of last year's accomplishments...

getting the deck painted sure made a huge difference...
we can't wait for warmer weather to be out there again...
plans are to add a breakfast bar at the end of the deck...
just nailing a 10x2 on top of the railing, painting it white to match and adding a couple of metal stools...
so we can sit and look out while we wake up in the mornings...
10 inches will be wide enough to set a plate of eggs on, too!

moving my potting area here and then filling in the area between it and the deck solved so many problems here...
the pathway through there was usually muddy and the grass was patchy...
its easier for me to get to...
even on bad days...
can't wait to add plantings here and pots of blooms this spring...

DH's willow sure made a huge gain last year...
I have been topping it to get it larger at the bottom before letting it go up...
I wanted the trunk strong enough to handle the winds...

the flooding last year forced us to move roses...
and to start this rose garden area...
still a work in progress...

I love dressing the scarecrows...
can't wait to start shopping GW Boutique again for this springs outfits...
(Goodwill)
you never know what you are going to find there!

just beginning to plan for this spring...
I would to add a bayberry and a pear tree this year...
just not sure where...
and can't wait to use the new tiller in the side yard and have a garden again this year...
other than that...
just getting back out there and playing in the dirt will be enough for me...
I'm not totally sure, but think there's something like 75 days until spring...
and you know its going to fly by!

in the meantime...
its still like this out there...
with the weather coming up being all over the place...
and now a possible snow storm hitting us this weekend...
but the snow brings nitrogen to the ground...
and that makes things grow in the spring!

blessings for a wonderful day!

from last year...

just for fun and something WARM to look at...

I think we missed almost all of the snow and freezing rain that was forecast...

there is still some out there, but nothing like what we thought we would going to get...

the flooded area last year...

so ready to pull my cart around again...

DH is going to try to make it to work this morning...
but Craig has the day off...
should be all melted by noon or so...
:)
be safe, stay warm and have good days!

sunny but still cold...

but not for long...
one more cold day and then the warm up starts...
could have a couple days of freezing rain/sleet...
will have to wait and see how warm it does get...

squirrel tracks...
they are everywhere!

a friend got this for me for Christmas...
the pray more, worry less clingy thingy...
love it...
put that up today...

another gift from Craig's girlfriend...
a salt lamp...
its supposed to take toxins from the air and a whole lot of other things...
it is sitting close to where I sit in the kitchen...

the "I can't wait for spring" tree...

the new furnace...
sitting in my living room!
it will go in when the snow melts...
they have to cut a hole in the roof...
we have a metal roof...
covered in snow and ice...
there's no way you could stand up up there...

and this is how we do afternoons...

its hard watching mom putter...

sending DH to Kroger tomorrow to stock up again...
kids will be coming for supper and bringing Dominos pizza with them...
I can order online and they pick it up and deliver!
its a win win for all of us...

looking forward to the day coming up in the 50s!
the 10 day outlook is so nice...

Prayers for all the ones who are in that crazy cyclone bomb!
saw photos and videos online...
I can't even image the ocean throwing ice chunks at you and flooding then freezing everything to the ground...
awful...
praying for no ice storm Sunday and Monday...

well, its about bedtime here...
have good Saturdays!

last night and this morning...

we had snow flurries yesterday afternoon and then the sun popped out just before sundown...

love the cardinals...

our furnace came...
and DH had to pull it down the street with a 2 wheel cart...
the sent it on the largest semi they could find and it couldn't get to us...

this morning as the sun came up...
do birds sun themselves?
bitter cold out there...

but they are still alive!

feeding them daily...

been unChristmasing around here...
leaving wintery things up...

DH got a new party boombox for Christmas from the doggie down the street that he takes care of when the human there isn't home...
:)
we both enjoy the radio...
and he got some new CDs for Christmas...
we are blasting the winter blues away...
LOL
we will be able to put this on the deck in the spring while we are working out in the yard...
or just sitting around...
ready to get back out there!
have good days!

its amazing...

how in the coldest weather...

and in survival mode...

just how well all these critters get along...

side by side...

almost all of the time...

I've seen buffet lines get ugly over the last bit of mac and cheese...
:)

still super cold here...
the furnace is being delivered today...
not sure when its going in, but will be soon...
the old one is still working...
just not taking any more chances...
:)
DH took another day off to be here when they deliver it...
its 200 pounds and I ain't doing that !
have good days!
