we had a great day yesterday...

the other Goodwill finds were 4 mens long sleeve dress shirts for me...

to garden in...

we ate out for lunch and supper...

took walks and a drive...

napped...

and just enjoyed the day...

until the phone call from my step mom...

God's plans are not always our plans...

and we are all leaving this world behind us one of these days...

she just wanted to live long enough to see dad through his time here...

but you just don't know how God works these things out...

not until you are walking daily in the struggles...

and they wouldn't be such a struggle if we trusted him more...

please keep her in your prayers...

if this isn't fixable...

and her days are fewer than what we had planned them to be...

maybe, just maybe...

she's the one He is protecting...

because if dad goes first...

she would be so lost without him...

his dementia is a blessing sometimes...

he is so unaware...

if she passes first, he will deal with it better than the rest of us...

I know that sometimes when we are blind sided with trials and tribulations...

that we lose our footing and feel like we are about to fall...

but there are arms, strong arms that reach out and catch us...

just fall into those arms...

its the safest place to be...

I just got a call from my step mom...

she is in the hospital...

they found colon cancer...

there is a mass outside the colon, too...

surgery Monday to see what it is and how much...

please, please pray...

today is our anniversary...

DH got the day off...

during harvest even!

Tori update...

after her first chemo, her hair started falling out...

she did her blood work on Monday to see if her counts were up...

and they are up!

round 2 of chemo is next Monday...

so she had her head shaved to get ready...

keep the prayers coming...

they are holding a benefit this weekend for her...

pray that goes well, too, and that she is able to attend...

she wants to thank everyone personally and see all of her friends...

God has blessed us with another cooler fall day...

the autumn clematis is almost spent...

but still smells sweet...

and the fall colors are popping up here and there...

Mr Squirrel needs to claim his nuts...

its a windy day here and in the 60s...

nothing much better than that...

we have lost 3 fur babies in the last week...

and my heart was sad...

so last night, I asked God to take away the sorrow that was weighing me down so much...

and he did...

just like that...

so today is a new day...

playing with babies...

enjoying this day...

and keeping things in perspective...

no tears today...

just grins and giggles...

and loving our simple, little country world...
