a Sunday outing for us...

it was a cloudy and windy day...
but you can see the green is starting to happen in the trees now...

and its going to snow!

Craig needed to make a trip north to our outlet mall...
it is pretty big...
there's probably 10xs more stores than this there...

I could use this at home!

DH and I waiting outside of Vanity Fair for Craig to pay for everything...
before moving on to the next store...

that is super cool...
been a long time since the kids were that small...
I asked Craig if I could ride it and he said NO!
THERE'S A WEIGHT LIMIT!
we went from here to the book store...
and I was sad to see that the Paper Factory is gone!
it was there from the beginning and now its not there...
I loved that store...

so we only did 2 stores...
that was enough...
and then we headed to where the guys wanted to go today...
Dairy Queen, which is right next to Burger King...
but I will live...

coming back home we saw fields that had been worked already...
I know they are just itching to get in there and get it all planted...

we were gone a couple hours, but seems like the whole day just flew by...
got this amazing purse at Vanity Fair...
and Craig was buying today!
he got 4 pairs of pants for work and 4 shirts...
and then got his dad a couple pair of jeans and a Pink Floyd shirt...
all of that for $118...
he printed off a coupon for 20% off of your entire purchase before we left...

at the bookstore I found 3 books, which he bought, too...
this was $5.99 there...

and these were $2.99 and $4.99...
Craig bought 11 books for his summer reading!
he carried them out in a box!

and this happened yesterday morning...

my father in law shared part of his bulbs with me many, many years ago...

and they are still going strong...

it was a wonderful weekend for me...
with Saturday night at Doug's with him and Paula...
a great meal and time shopping with them...
I can't believe I didn't take any photos...
just too busy doing the moment...
and then our mid morning out shopping and doing lunch...
its so nice having a kid with a job taking you shopping!
;)
we are blessed with great kids...
with big hearts...
I'm slowing down today and tomorrow...
we start the cooking on Wednesday...
our Easter dinner will be noon Friday...
Craig has the nuttiest schedule this week again...
its the only day in the 3 day weekend when he will have be here for dinner time...
and works through supper time all 3 of them...
I will get to rest up again on Thursday and then Craig and Doug will be here Thursday after 5...

hope y'all missed the snow...
I know up north they were calling for 5 inches!
ARG!
spring is happening, and sooner or later it will head north, too!
have a great day!
;)

what do you do just after midnight?

a mini photo shoot of what you bought at the Dollar Tree after your son and his girl friend fed you the most absolute amazing supper ever!
I love these...
and they are almost $6 for 5 of them now at Walmart...
I checked them out the last time we were there and wouldn't pay it...
found these tonight, 2 for $1...
got 2 packs of them...

then I found this...
I buy the cheap sun glasses...
so I can stash them everywhere and have a pair when I need them...

got a couple of books...
yeah, I know...
pretty cheesy...

but, this was a number 1 seller at one time...

typical stuff you need...

and I was so surprised to find this there...
I have not had the fever and cold before, but it looks like it covers everything...
I take childrens' medicine...
the adult stuff knocks me out...

we got home at 10 and the ride home was so cool...
it feels like a cool summer night out there...
we had a stiff breeze all day, but its still now...
no coats, DH wore shorts...
windows open, kids were playing...
hard to believe we could get snow on Monday...

Doug grilled chicken breast out on the grill...
then there were these enormous baked potatoes topped with mozzarella cheese and green onions...
cole slaw...
cantaloupe...
and Hawaiian dinner rolls...
it was so good...
and we had so much fun...
Bella was there and she remembered us!
she is getting so big...
then after supper we ran to the Dollar Tree and the kids helped get me in and out of there...

I did see daffodils in bloom...
a couple of small trees with white blossoms on them, not sure what they were...
lots of tall grass that needs mowed...
we had a great time...

thank you for all the prayers for Mr & Mrs P...
I am sure I will hear from them sometime this week...
I will wait until they call...
when we drove by there on the way to Doug's, it looked like their families had gone...
I am sure they need some just them time...

hope you have a blessed day!

in God's time...

Now I lay me down to sleep...
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake...
I pray the Lord my soul to take.

today is the day...
for Mr & Mrs P to say one last good bye...
until they see him again on the other side...
prayers for them, please...
and the grandparents, aunts and uncles...
how great their trial...

am I the only one?

maybe I'm a bit odd, but when I find something I like, I know to buy more than one...
especially in clothes, shoes and purses...
because those who design are airheads most of the time and I like what I like...
which isn't much...
so I got another pair of sneakers just like the ones I bought for around the house and out in the yard...
I wonder if that makes me a hoader???
saving them back for hard times when all the shoes available glow in the dark...
does anyone else do this???

the other pair of doves...

friends hanging out...

its all growing so fast...

got more rain last night....

had a thunderstorm move through after midnight...

I count this as leaves...
lilac...
I know they are full fledged yet, but I am still counting them...
the winter was way too long...

look at the knock out rose!
green and new growth...
yippee!

and this morning after the rain, the day lilies are taller than they were yesterday...

the wind was so light that I grabbed my boy and headed out to burn all the sticks that we picked up in the yard the other day...
and he made his lunch out there...
polish sausage on a stick...

been out for a walk, too and eating the rest of my pizza from last night right now...
and I wonder why my keyboard keys stick sometimes...
;)
talked to almost all of my neighbors this morning, too...
Tori had surgery on Wednesday, so went to check on her...
her uncle said it all went fine...
when they amputated her foot, she ended up with a bone spur on the end...
this got really sore when she wore her leg, so she hasn't been able to use it much at all...
so they went in and took the spur off, smoothed it all down...
and then pulled the muscle down and stretched it over the end...
its going to take a bit to heal, but she should be so much more comfortable in her leg now...
and she is still cancer free...
which is awesome!
talked to my neighbor who had her stroke on Jan 18th...
her therapy is helping her regain her hand and leg...
she has a very long way to go, and they said it could take up to two years...
but she is working on it...
its in the 70s and the sun is shining bright today...

we have been invited to Doug's for supper tomorrow night...
and they are cooking...
this is weird, but I have never been invited to eat a meal by one of my kids in their own place...
I usually just show up with food in hand...
isn't that what mom's do?
he's 33 years old and just now inviting us over to eat...
oh, they come here all the time and eat...
I even feed all the friends...
so this is going to be fun for me...

I hope you all have a great weekend ahead of you...
and beware of monkey arms!
;)
Susie left me a comment about having monkey arms after working in the yard and basement...
you know, when your arms weigh 10 tons when you get up the next morning...
I had to laugh at that one...
shoot, I have monkey arms, monkey legs...
I even have monkey boobs and a monkey butt...
that must be why its draggin' all the time...
so when I get into the dr again, I now have the scientific term...
I will be able to explain my problems more clearly...
I have monkey everything today, doc...
can you fix that?
;)
love ya, Susie!

we had a beautiful spring day...

and I got outside...

my job was to break up and cut up the limbs and sticks into smaller pieces to burn in the fire pit on a calmer day...
Craig only has one day off this week, and yesterday was it, so was trying to get this done before mowing time...

all the spent walnut shells under the biggest walnut tree...
no wonder our squirrels are fat...

dead heading the yucca...

the grass was so green and everything is shooting up...

onion chives that I planted years ago are all over the place along the field line...

doves...

sparrow, purple finch and junco...

a lady cardinal and a sparrow...

the purple finch also has a red butt...

I need to research them more...
this must be the female...

its early this morning, but I am so sore from yesterday...
yard work and  walks...
house work and laundry...
steamed the kitchen floor and all the fun stuff inside, too...
its going to be a stretch and groan day for sure...
I will be glad when I get toughened up more...
there is still a little more to do out there, but it will get done over the weekend...

so, here's the update on Courtney in Ohio...
she went to see a doctor, who ran more tests...
in 24 hours, things had changed...
the spots in the lungs were GONE...
the spots in the lymph nodes were GONE...
there is a tumor in the colon /rectum...
and there is a small part of the liver effected...
change of plans...
hit her hard with chemo...
shrink the tumor...
remove the tumor...
remove a small part of the liver and it will grow back...
get rid of the bag...
for good...
;)
doctor's are scratching their heads...
but we know its prayer and the healing power from above...
keep praying...
and she isn't a friend of mine...
she's family...
my family...
and from my family...
we would like to thank you for all your prayers and concern...
;)
God is good all the time...
