good evening...

I took another down day...
just not enough energy to get much done...
but the day started on the deck this morning...

another rose is blooming...

and the green beans are really growing...
and its time to grab a hoe and start clearing some maple trees...

filling the bird bath while watering this morning...

blooms on the tomatoes...

my buddy...
right after breakfast and a good face washing...

the clematis is done...

the yellow knock out rose is showing some color...

pink tiger lilies...
soon...

lavender...

again...

just strutting his stuff...

there's quite a bit going on in the flower beds...

as some things fade, others open up...

green pepper and a snap dragon...

won't be long for the peonies...

they are showing color and by this evening, were starting to open...

iris...

Hermie...

Lester...

Daphne...

I can never do a photo shoot without help...

you know, the flowers never fade away in Heaven...
just imagine that...

and tired puppy...

I hope you had a wonderful day where you are...
and that you took the time to see the blessings around you...
;0)
they are everywhere...

just a quick walk around the yard this evening...

while walking Charlie...
this is where I decided this should go...

and Craig dumped a bag of top soil in here...
but he is going to need more, so it sits awhile until that happens...

we have plants left over for that and a few more pots for the deck...

snap dragons...

this is what I planted yesterday...

and here, plus the weeding and getting all the tiny maple trees out...

and then we made it back to the veggie garden...
and what did we find?
bean greens!

we had just a few barely peeking through last night...
and look at them now...
in 24 hours!

DH did a wonderful job cleaning up the bird bath yesterday...
we let it soak in bleach while we were working outside...

and the tomatoes...
notice the small pop bottle in the middle...
that's to water them...
it will hold water and slowly release it into the soil...
if we end up with a dry summer, I will stick them in my pots, too...

radish and maple trees...

DH even got my rose bushes dusted yesterday...

and then someone had to rest, so we sat a spell out under the shade trees...

and he did his first selfie...
he is checking everything out now...
this little bundle of fun who was scared of everything just a few weeks ago...
is getting pretty brave in his old age...
;0)
he even discovered the rain gauge tonight...
its one you stick in the ground...
I thought he was going to pee on it, but he didn't...

they put the permanent port in my sister in law today and later in the week they are moving her to a rehab place...
she is back on dialysis...
I am not sure how long she will be there...
small steps and God's grace...
that's all you need...
continue your prayers for her and her husband and daughter...

the guys had to head back to work today...
so a nice quiet day with Charlie...
I have a drs appointment on Friday to drain one of the fibroid cysts in my breast...
its all swelled up and sore...
so going to see the surgeon who took out my gall bladder...
he told me before that he would just take a needle and drain it that way...
right in his office with a local, so no out patient thing at all...
seems like it won't take too long and it will be done...
Craig is going with me, since he has that day off...
and then, if I'm good, he will stop by Burger King on the way home...
I'll be good alright...
until I get my whopper...
;0)
got some rain heading this way...
got nothing today and we need it...
so if we have to stay in, there is plenty to do around here...
have a fun day...
;0)

some major breakthroughs happened this weekend...

but first, this morning on the deck...

everyone in our family enjoys our time out here...

a quick trip to the island to fill the bird feeders and I found these open...

and the iris are about half done...

then onto fun things...

put this one in a hanging basket and the other on an ice cream chair by the steps...

then onto smelling more roses...

DH got these dusted today to take care of the critters that's been chomping on them...

the back of the island...

and the bean field behind us...
DH found a carcass out here while dumping our garden wastes..
it was a opossum, about  half grown...
coyotes- they don't leave much behind...

and this is where I spent a lot of time this morning...
weeding and picking those crazy helicopters out of everything...
and I planted some snap dragons and marigolds along the edge of where Bebe lies...

Craig planted the wheel barrow...
then we watered that side of the yard before coming in...
we did do some trimming, weed eating and raking, too...
we watered the front and the other side before we started working on this side...

then I came in and made pizza for lunch...
Charlie and I took a nap and Craig had to be at work at 3...
I got up just before that...

and our breakthroughs this weekend were...
chomp the frog and shake him...
he plays!

and this is his...
'Mommy, can we go outside again? face...'
he really likes it out there...
he loves everyone except for Craig...
he growls at him any time he comes near...
;0)
Craig has to beat my back when I spasm to work the muscles lose...
I think Charlie thinks he is hurting me...
he will figure it out soon, though...

spent some time today thanking all those who live on the other side...
vets and family who have made the crossing...
remembering those no longer with us...
;0)

hope you had a good day...
too bad the guys have to work and we can't spend every day together...
but that might not be a good idea, either...
;0)
someone could end up running away from home...
