Easter egg hunt on Saturday...

meet Eli...
I know you have probably met him here before...
but we have a tradition of watching him egg hunt every year...
DH works with his dad, so they are just friends of ours...
but we really like this guy...

our egg hunt is on the square in our little town...

and all the kids come...
the little kids  hunt eggs right in the middle of the square...
the bigger kids are in grassy areas, just off of the square...
which I think is where we will have to go next year to watch Eli...

Eli was all about finding eggs this year...

he had his game on...

he knew just what to do and went about doing it...

there was just no stopping him until his basket was full...

it was a beautiful day...

a little cool, but a hoodie took care of that...

time to open the eggs!

they are full of candy and sometimes, if you are lucky, there will be a piece of paper inside saying that you have won a huge Easter basket from the Easter Bunny!
Eli got one last year, but not this time...
but he did get a pile of candy...
and he was good with that...

now the whole time the guys were hunting for eggs...
his mama was asking me about adopting dogs through the rescue where we got Charlie and I help out with at times...
so, when we got back home, I was on it...
by Sunday afternoon, Eli had a dog...
a rescue dog named Gretchen...

they met her and took her home...
and Eli has a new forever buddy to hang out with and take to the park with him every day...
isn't she just beautiful?
she came in pregnant and had her pups...
they are being adopted out now...
the pups go quickly, but not so much the moms...
so happy they picked the mom!
no more shelters for her!
its a win/win...
they got an awesome dog...
and she got an awesome family!

our Easter blessing this year...
;0)
I can't wait to meet her!

thank you...

Jesus, for dying for me...

and for lilacs in the spring...

and all of your blessings on us...

and promises of better things to come...
;0)

heading out soon for the town easter egg hunt on the square...
going to see some little ones run for the gold...
;0)
and I know the easter bunny this year!
(well, we kind of know the easter bunny every year- small town)

hope your weekend is going wonderful and all those who got dumped on by the blizzard...
I hope your snow is gone!

good Friday...

we had dark skies and rain yesterday...
and then early in the evening...

the temperature dropped...
down into the 30s...

today is gray skies and not much over 40...
but I can see that the winds we have had are gone with the warm days...

DH has today off and is out walking the yard picking up sticks...
again...
getting ready for the mower guy to come this weekend...

I was up early and went back to bed...
need to get moving here and get something done...
;0)
have a blessed Good Friday...
the Lamb arose!

not a bad day...

considering what the northern states are going through...
it is downright wonderful here...

see how warm?
that is a Kleenex box on the bench, for those of you wondering...
its full of dryer lint for the birds to use in their nests...

the dwarf lilac is leafing out and the iris are getting taller each day...

I love the forsythia...
nice bright yellows mean spring to me...

we do have some rain coming and we could use it...
an egg hunt on Saturday...
dinner on Sunday...
probably will be soggy and cooler...
but you have to have the rain to make things grow!

be well and stay safe in the storms...
;0)

we are warmer...

but the wind is something else...
I have a few daffodils in the house now...

trying to get a little bit done every evening when DH gets home...

beginning to look better out there...
there's a root upheaving that block that we need to cut down so we can semi level everything again...

did you ever have that one thing you wouldn't let go of?
this is mine...
I bought it when the kids were so small...

the azalea is brightly shining...
even have a little one beside the big one that we can dig and put somewhere else...
see the cracks in the dirt?
all that wind has dried things up pretty good around here...

we have rain in the forecast for Thursday, Saturday and Sunday...
so with that and Easter dinner happening...
we probably won't get much done this weekend outside...

the annual Easter Egg Hunt on the square is Saturday...
and we are going, rain or shine...
the last few years, its been wonderful, sunny days...
but Easter is so early this year...
its going to be a bit chilly...
not in the 70s at all...

we are going to change dinner up a bit this year...
making it in the big roaster...
just a coupe of dishes is all we are making...
pork roast, potatoes and carrots in the roaster and throwing the noodles in there, too...
maybe some cole slaw and deviled eggs...
and that will do it...
;0)
need to lay the pork roast down from the freezer this evening...
and we have to clean out the fridge this week and get the left overs ate up so we have room to put all this...
so suppers will be super easy...
just heat it up...
;0)

should be no excuses for not getting things done around here...
right?
check back in later and I will tell you how well that goes...
have good days!
