another busy weekend...

we had a couple of very nice days this weekend...

to work and piddle fart around outside...

DH had a good father's day...

with both boys here and all the fur babies around...

Charlie and Mr Wiggles...

finally got the dog to sit still and the cat licks his butt...

figures...

I told him I was blogging that...

DH took Friday off, for three whole days with us...

well, except for seeing Cheap Trick and Stix on Friday night...

of which he had a fantastic time!

this is the latest project that we worked on...

Craig will bring mulch home tonight to fill it in...

DH's willow tree is in this, too...

I ended up with a pinched nerve in my neck for 2 days of this...

but we still got much done...

Charlie had a great time in the yard, off leash...

and he did so good!

2 whole days of staying with me and not running to the neighbor's...

I think he finally gets it...

happy father's day, goober...

ya know we love ya!

DH needed a profile photo for FB and his fantasy baseball league...

this is before his hair cut...

he's not so bushy anymore...

gosh, are we getting old...

A Sentimental Life

you can't beat 80s during the day...

and 60s at night...

everyone was here yesterday...

Edison lights...

found them at Walmart...

hung them over the picnic table...

they are not bright, bright...

they glow a more softer light...

this is done...

we will add more day lilies here as we clean out the beds and thin them down...

this should keep out the corn stalks if we get a lot of rain...

Doug and Paula are camping out behind the island...

DH had a great time at the concert...

Cheap Trick and Stix played at Champaign, Il last night...

he loved it...

more to do today...

not sure how much will get done, but we don't have to work as hard as yesterday...

we finally got our rain!

we ended up with .7...

a shower in the morning and a shower in the afternoon...

we sure needed it...

most places got a lot more than that...

2 nice days for us here, now...

plugging away at it...

one project at a time...

this guy got a major trim last night after supper...

you should see him now!

he was just too top heavy...

have good days...

my wish for you:

a rainbow after your storm...

it looked like rain...

so I headed out pretty early to get some outside time...

only a couple of these left now...

I dead headed the peonies...

and saved the petals...

just piddle farted around...

you know there is always something to dead head...

especially in my yard...

there will be a pot of these on the stove this weekend...

this is the best area for growing green beans...

still growing yours in the ground?

rethink that...

major back saver when you pick and weed free...

the clouds passed us by in the morning...

things heated up with the sun shining...

clouds in the afternoon moved through...

rained all around us and we got nothing...

;o(

BUT...

a cool breeze blew in off the backside of the storms...

and cooled us off and took out the humidity...

and after supper, this is where I was for a time...

as the breeze blew through the deck...

billowing fabric as the chimes softly danced...

;o)

if only every minute of summer were like that...

I would never get off of the deck...
