photo shoot tips...

lighting is everything...
it's not so important as to how much...
it's the angle...
straight down flood light washes out color...
and angle gives shadows...
shadows = depth...
depth= great photos...
never take just one shot...
take as many as you like...
because every shot is different...
take them close up....
and then move back a little...
take them from below...
a different angle...
crop close ups...
take them from a above....
wait for the light...
and shear curtains diffuse light...
diffuse=a device that diffuses or spreads out or scatters light in some manner...
makes it softer...
like a candle soft...
so find something ordinary today...
and find your light...
whatever room it comes in at....
take at least 12 photos of the same thing from different angles...
these photos are all straight out of the camera...
some were cropped...
but none of the photos were retouched...
and it's just a cheap digital...
you do not need all the fancy cameras out there...
if it looks good to  your eye...
grab your camera...
if they don't come out...
just delete them and do it again...
be sure to dust first!
it will show up every time!
mornings and evenings are the best time for out door shots...
when the sun is coming up and going down...
it's the angle of the light...
the more you do..
the better you will get...
and the better you get...
the more you will enjoy it...
have fun and I will be checking in on you to see how you do...

Don said he has directions I sent him to make a light box for small things but this really helps with other photos. Thanks for the tips.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and commenting on my work. I appreciate it so much.
Your tips are just wonderful. Taking pictures is not my strong point but it's very important to me. I will try and use some of the tips you talk about when staging for my website, Char

You're absolutely right Tete! I am very fussy about the pictures I take and I take a lot! Thank goodness for photo editors!

Thank you you for all these great suggestion on making photos. I make several, but it is because I goof up. I do believe you have a new picture of yourself. I like it,

Beautiful photos from various angles. I am stopping by from LV's blog :o) I read your comment and would love to see your quilt...have you posted about it? I am so thankful to have a quilt that my dad's aunt created(some of which were used were feed sack fabric)... and thankful for my mom's quilts she created, especially since she passed away in 2004.

Blessings & Aloha!
