When Heaven Cried

A call came up the other day, bells began to ring,
Cries were coming into Heaven louder than we could sing.

The death angel had been busy, to Earth we had to go,
Again, the evil one had struck a devastating blow.

There are no words to describe what we saw when we got there,
As the towers fell, fire and ash filled the air.

So many were released instantly, but others had to wait,
The second life cannot begin until the first one fades.

We held their hands and comforted them, until their time to go,
Then we gently hugged them as we greeted their immortal soul.

Their worries weren't about themselves, but the ones they had to leave,
Their concern was for the others, the ones left there to grieve.

Of all the ones that crossed that day, there was a different breed,
They are the ones that God had called to serve the human's needs.

They are the ones who wore a badge until their dying day,
Their hearts are full of mercy, God had blessed them in that way.

Just because you cannot see them, their work is not quite done,
Now they're wearing halos and wings given by the Son.

They ride the trucks with lights and sirens into the battle zones,
And when a brother steps in his boots, he is not alone.

Good Morning Tete,
THANKS FOR SHARING THE POEM.
It was a horribly tragic time in history.
I hope you are doing well.
You are a very needed prayer warrior...this whole world is in destruction of some kind.
Have a beautiful day Tete.
hugs

That is so beautiful Tete. I had goose bumps as I read it, and I still do. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful poem. It's so hard to believe that it's been 10 years. My prayers go out for those who have lost. Well, we all have lost, haven't we, from such a tragedy. hugs to you, my friend.
