worked on the little bed in front of the shed this morning...
lavender in with the dusty miller...
rose moss...
still waiting on the dusty miller to bloom...
roses and columbine...
lavender started blooming this week...
yellow bird on the bird bath...
this all needs sanded at bit to rough it up some...
but this was the main reason I sat down out here today...
we got a "new" load of old bricks last night...
a guy DH works with was going to throw about 100 of them in the dumpster...
DH said whoa there, pardner...
and brought them home...
so reworked the old ones and double stacked the new ones...
hoping to keep the grass clippings out of the beds...
the BBQ chicken from Monday night was served again last night...
along with au gratin potatoes- homemade...
been busy...
construction guy came by right after lunch and will be starting on Tuesday after the holiday...
yesterday was spent clearing things out of their way...
pulling pavers...
stacking blocks...
hosing it all down and just cleaning the area up...
a tad more to go, but waiting for the mower guy to mow and then we can start pulling the tubs from underneath...
I have had really good days, so taking a slower one today...
sinuses are bothering me again...
we only got a tenth of rain the other night, so things are still dusty and full of pollen...
just got done puppy playing the neighbor dog...
she is gone today so Craig went over and snagged her out of her play pen...
Snikki and Bebe had a ball playing and then he took her back for nap time...
he will go get her out again about 3...
I just took an aspirin and heading for a nap...
have a great day!

Great weather...aaahhh
I know your excited about your deck.
I am always looking for bricks too for my flower beds!
it all sounds and looks wonderfully productive!
and of course, beautiful.
hugs,
gail
Hi Tete, You scored with the bricks, and they look great. I enjoyed seeing your to roses, lavender, and dusty miller. My guess on the dusty miller is that if we grow it for just one season it doesn't have time to produce flowers. Since yours wintered over, it is larger and getting ready to bloom. Cool! Love your new blog background - it's feminine and elegant and beautiful.
I didn't know that Dusty Miller even bloomed! Oh how I wish I could snag some bricks like those, can't believe someone was throwing them out...
No rain here, either and it is so dry.
Wow- You have been getting so much done, Tete. It is hard to believe how much better you are than you were a year ago. It makes my heart smile.
I am so excited for your deck. Just think in a couple of weeks you will be sitting out there enjoying it. I can't wait and I know you are beyond excited.
Off and running for the day here, again. Will catch up with you later- xo Diana
Oh it looks fantastic Tete..I know you are on pins and needles of excitement to have that deck done and sit on it sipping something cold this summer...:-) I love your brick beds..awesome! Hope your day is another good one!! thanks for sharing all the inspiration and eye candy!! xoxo
Hi Tete, Thanks for the info on the shaving mugs. I learned a lot from the man in that antique shop but I wasn't so sure what he said about the women's shaving mugs. You know so much about antiques, I should just come to you first when I don't know about something!
Your garden beds look beautiful, I wish I could say that about mine!
Thanks again and have a great holiday weekend!

Who the heck throws away bricks. I keep telling my husband that if points the mower shoot AWAY from the flower beds then they don't get grass in them. You would think it would be obvious, but then again, he doesn't weed the beds. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
