my house, void of color...

thanks to some really cool photo editing tricks...
I can see what my house would look like without color...

I admire all of you who can commit to such a thing...
to go in shades of whites, tans and grays...

it takes strict discipline to do that kind of a home...
of course, I don't have that...

but what if I did?
what would it all look like if I could pull that off?
Johnny in sepia tones still looks good...
and yes, he hangs in my living room, cause that's the kind of goofy girl I am...

the textures are still there...

and I suppose I could get used to it...
but I raised boys and I know with all that white, comes some major upkeep...

white is not a color...
it is a lack of color, just as black is all colors...
and without light there is no color...

I cannot imagine my world without color...
so hats off to all you who week after week...
show the rest of us that it can be done...
and done beautifully...

had a meeting this morning with new contractors on having the deck built...
I was impressed with them and their knowledge on basic skills...
they come highly recommended by a friend...
who had them add an open sun room on her house last summer...
there is a reason the other guy was not supposed to do it...
and I think these are the right ones...
I can't wait to get their estimate and get started on this...
I can't wait to spend the rest of summer and fall out there...
for years to come...

If you had NO color in your house it would still be filled with your COLORFUL personality! lol I have a lot of neutrals in our house..but color, too. Just not BRIGHT colors cuz that is not me. I love color in a garden, too. I have been in an all white garden at night though and it was absolutely, amazingly beautiful.

I am so glad that your deck is finally going to happen. xo Diana

I love color, so the white/beige doesn't work for me, either.
I do have one room that is painted Chalk White, but it has a border, and lots of color elsewhere. It is the room I do my floral work in, so it screams color...
