sultry afternoon...

our rose of sharon is blooming, but not like it usually does...
and there are no Japanese beetles this year...
not one...

we have small tomatoes all over the place...

and yesterday morning, Beau Beau found this in the ferns...
attacked and killed it...
but Craig raked it out with the hoe and made sure it was dead before throwing it in the field...
I have a massive fear of them...
and he went back later to take a pic of it and it had turned this funky green color...
weird...

so what do you do when its too hot to play outside?
you tear up mom's couch...
and run amuck...

and cuddle...
its time to make the call...
you know the one where they come and get her for adoption time...
gona miss this one...

Craig and I went out to see just how bad it was yesterday while waiting for DH to get home...
hot enough to make a redneck water fountain...
I played in it, too...

while some of us napped the afternoon away...
its so hard being cute and adorable...

got a call yesterday from my step mom...
dad is in the hospital with pneumonia...
and they wanted to put in a feed tube...
I voted no...
so we'll see what happens...
there is no point and its time to let him go...
I hope she can...
keep her in your prayers...
its a hard decision sometimes...

we just missed rain to the north...
it moved through in the early hours this morning, but we still have a 30% chance...
humidity is 78% this morning...
yuck...
but if it brings some rain, it will be worth it...
glad someone got some, though...

have a good weekend...

Prayed for your step-mom, Tete.
Hoping she has the strength and wisdom to do the right thing.
The kitten is such a cutie. It must be so hard to give them up.
I like your "fountain" idea. Anything that brings a little relief in the heat works for me.
Enjoy the weekend.

Kids and water in the summertime...LOL...No matter WHAT age they are... ;-) feels SO good. yes..I'm sure Kitty has SUCH a rough life there being so cute and cuddly...it's SO hard...;-) He will have a good life because of your investment into his beginning days. rah. Hoping you get rain Tete. The storm that raced through here brought us a good rain, but scared me a little. First time that the sirens have actually gone off to warn of trouble, instead of just the monthly test runs...Have a fantastic Fourth weekend. Prayers for your family as decisions are being made. (peace) xoxo

Praying for your step mom, hopefully the right decision will be made. I know it isn't easy, btdt.
That kitten is so adorable.
We have a spare dog this weekend, and he isn't nearly as well behaved, I'm afraid. I'm about ready to wring his neck....Poor Petey!

Hi Tete, I've been thinking of you and your dad & step mom. Hope she does make the right choice. Please keep us posted. I am praying for you all.
Beau Beau is just too cute, I would have a hard time parting with that little sweetie. Super hot and dry & muggy here, too. I think I'll start tackling painting my craft room today. I've been putting it off, it's a big room. Wouldn't have needed repainting if it weren't for our "lovely" renter. At least it will look nice & fresh & clean when I am done. Sending prayers and hugs your way.

I am still praying for your stepmom and your Dad AND you! Never easy at any age, or stage of life, to make these kinds of decisions.

Hmmmm...I thought you were going to Keep this baby? You know you want to!

Love your redneck fountain-xo Diana

Hi Tete....Sultry is a romantic sounding word. It sure sounds better than "sweltering". Oh to be a kitty and lounge around the house.
I will keep your family in my prayers.
hugs,
