Sunday morning...

DH made pancakes for breakfast this morning...
I can have one small one with sugar free syrup...

ferns, if you cannot tell what they are...
rather what's left of them...

a pink salvia that the humming birds love...
saw one in here this morning...

the shade garden is even looking rather bleak...
ferns and lilies are drying up...

rose of sharon is giving it all she's got...

day lilies...
they bloomed early this year and now they look like they do in the fall...

the blooms are about half and smaller...
but still pink and enough to bring the bees in...

tomatoes are having a hard time getting the calcium out of the ground in the heat...

these look good, but there are so many with the ends rotted...
a problem we never have here normally...
but this isn't a normal year...

feeling very tired and lazy today...
gona finish my lunch and then take a nap...
the guys are watching golf and baseball...
not in the mood for that today...
if I can't sleep, I'll find a book...
you know the kind...
yeah, I'll say it...
ROMANCE!
Diana- pick away!

Glad you're feeling better today, Tete. It surely is dishearteniing to see the state of your beloved gardens. I feel fortunate; despite the heat and drought, I've only lost two plants so far, with two more looking iffy. I pray that we never have another summer with this kind of weather! But...all in perspective. There are many worse things going on in others' lives. I am so blessed, and grateful.

My ferns look the same...makes me worried they are from 1515.

Oh- Please tell me you did NOT read one of those awful Harlequin Romances~?! Well, being as you are still recovering I guess I will cut you a little slack...but NO MORE after today!!!

It is hot here and I thought the same thing when I looked at my lilies today-that they are tired and waiting for Fall-xo Diana
