city wide rummage sales...

got this quilted bedspread for $10 this weekend...
with matching pillow shams...
it was only a full and we have a queen size bed...
so, it went on the couch...

love the design...
and all the quilting...
the shams fit perfect on the arms of the couch...

and this little jar and lid...
perfect to keep a heart safe...

and this lamp...
they had $10 on it...
too high, if you ask me...
offered them $5...
and we stuck it in the van...
didn't get much at all this time...
don't NEED a thing...

do you have city wide garage sales???
we have 2 a year...
in the spring and fall...
we have had them for years...
used to draw some big crowds back in the day...
but now eveyone does them...
we were the first around here!
makes it worth the drive to come on over...

DH has already headed for Paris for a morning of shopping...
and if his timing is right...
I'll be eating another whopper at noon or so...
yeah, I know...
what can I say?
I'm weak...

have a fun day- got rain coming here...
I hope!

I think you got some good bargains, like the quilt on the couch...great idea.

I keep watching for the rain, and will send it your way.

Hi Tete, Love the quilt-but of course I would being a quilter and all. We have a town garage sale on Memorial Day weekend and by the end of the weekend I am tired of shopping. I do tend to get some good bargains but I'm ready for the sales to be done for the year.
Have a great day.

What fun, Tete. I LOVE that quilt. Do you know the trick of sticking a piece of PVC down behind the cushions in the crack to keep the quilt in place so it isn't shifting all the time? Great idea about using the shams for arm covers! Cute little lamp, too.

We don't have the city wide sales here but each housing "section" (several of them anyway) have their own sale day. I haven't been to a single sale this summer-

It has been raining since I got up..one of those dreary (much needed) days- xo Diana

I am loving your apothecary jar, Tete! You will have so much fun with it! It looks great with the heart. And the comforter is so pretty, what a great buy! We have lake wide sales around here, and "Michigan's Longest Garage Sale", was just a few weekends ago, here in our neck of the woods. But wouldn't you know, that is when we got our much needed rain, so lots of sales were closed. I'm going to miss gs season! Have a great week!

Hello Tete,
So love the quilt you found!!! What a great idea to use the pillow shams, I think I am going to "steal" that idea. Every one seems to find all the great buys...except for me ;(
Hope you are doing OK and have a relaxing Sunday
