did this last week...

changed up the china cabinet...
these were my grandma's...
cute little s&p set...
I always loved them and was so excited to find them when going through her stuff after she passed...
we kind of thought that she had tossed them...

a little lamb that I bought from a blogging friend...
and a souvenir glass, ruby flashed and etched...
Ashland, Ohio...
we lived there for a spell...
I started school there and went K-3rd grades in Ashland before we moved back to Shelby, where I was born...
I found that on ebay years ago...

DH got me the chocolate pot and cream and sugar one year for Valentine's Day...
and the sweet little cup and saucer were from my grandmother's what-not shelf...
she only had the one piece...

infuser...

love this little girl, reminds of my mother...

I have a small collection of lambs...
my sister's head stone has a lamb laying on top of it...
its how I remember her...

and there it is...
I would love to lighten up the inside...
but the cabinet is from my in laws...
and I do not want to deface it in any way...
but if it had a light background, things would look so pretty in there...
I have thought about using vintage music pages...
my father in law, along with being a minister...
used to sing in church...
I also like ceiling tile wall paper and that would look pretty, too...
so what do you think?
what would you do to brighten up the inside?
;)

Oh what a beautiful collection. And what a perfect place to display it.

Mmmmmm, wouldn't lighting be lovely? Yes, but that would not be possible, because guess some holes would have to be drilled, to attach the soft lighting..... Nope.

But if it wouldn't hurt, to attach some sort of light paper to the back, that would be cool.

Btw, I love, love, love all the ruby red glass!!!! And that Chocolate Pot, etc. ...breathtaking.

(And isn't it nice, to be noticing pretty spots in your own home? :-))))

Somebody give that gal in the fancy dress, on your blog background, a _cheeseburger_!!!! LOL! Force feed her, if necessary.

You have some beautiful pieces, Tete. The chocolate pot is GORGEOUS! I love the ruby glass, I have some of the souvenir glasses too. They came from my grandma and are etched with Pella, Iowa plus the date (sometime in the early 1900's - I don't recall right off hand). I hope you are having a nice weekend, Tete.

Tete, I like your collectables. Maybe you could lay a small strand of lights in the cabinet to light it. Or place some of those tea lights in your cups...the ones with batteries. Stay warm and safe. xoxo,Susie

I love your chocolate pot, Tete, it's gorgeous! And the sweet little lambs and that little girl are just adorable. You could always cut some foam core to fit the inside backing of your cabinet, then cover with pages from vintage hymnals. That way it wouldn't be permanent, you could change it out. And it would give you the lighter background you want!

If you want to cover the back or shelf, cover foam board or something like that with fabric, wall paper or scrapbook paper. Then the whole thing can be taken out if your in-laws want it back. Are you storing this for them and it's a temporary furniture item?

I love your kitten salt and pepper shakers. So cute!
