we got so much done over the weekend...

these are making so much noise now, its all you can hear...

but had both guys off on Saturday and did we ever get things done...

we did the island...
its ready for fall...
the iris I will mow off later...
right before the snow flies...

we cut back, raked out and pulled the weeds...

moved a few things a bit and headed for the next project...

I didn't get shots of it, but we cut the hydrangea and ferns back to 3 inches...
and while DH and I cut and pulled, Craig kept up the hauling to the burn pile...

these are yet to bloom...

then we heading to the "hill" behind the house and raked and cleaned that up...
so I can take the mower back in there now...

then we headed over here...
and DH took the push mower and mowed the day lilies down...
then we raked it all up and rearranged things here...

the corn is drying fast with no rain and heads are dropping...

we worked and got things done...
then DH headed for Paris and Kroger...
while Craig and I cleaned inside and got things done at home...
DH brought home a late supper with the groceries, so as soon as those were put up...
we pigged out a little...

behind the hill...
I can mow to the corn now...
I just set the deck up high and it keeps the weeds down...

the back of the island...

autumn clematis is ready to bloom...
this one is on the bike in the island...

the garden will be the last thing pulled...

another autumn clematis in the north yard on one of the ever greens...

these are sweetest smelling blooms ever and will have butterflies and bees all over them when they open...

did you ever have the feeling that you were being watched?
well...I did...
and then I saw her...
we have so many different colored praying mantis this year...
this one is rusted!

Friday and Saturday nights, DH and I did a bon fire...
and sat out around it for a bit...
Sunday, we worked on the fire pit area...
cleaned it out from the last two nights...
brought all the sticks from where we had cleaned up the yard and got them broke and piled, ready for another fire...
he hauled come bigger limbs and cut them up, so we are good to go for a few more...

we didn't have to mow this weekend and we got no rain...
so...its really dry and dying out there...
we are watering every evening...
pulling tomatoes every day and a few peppers...
we are cool for here...
70s in the days and 50s at night...
things are slowing down...
going back up to around 90 next week, so hoping the beans will finish...
but don't think the watermelon stand a chance now...
but you never know...
;0)
I am taking a down day...
I had a good weekend and felt better than I have all summer...
but I sure can't move today...
;0)
life with fibro!

Wow! You all did an amazing job! But you have to, to keep up with all your land...

Cut 'em down to 3" hu...... OK, nothing else has worked, for his hydrangeas. He'll take the electric hedge cutter to them, after our "Pretty Season" is over. !!!!! Can't hurt them. And nothing else has worked. :-)))
