Happy Monday morning to you...

this is where my boy and I spent some time after our walk this morning...

making a mental list of things to do...

new boards for the bench and a few more bags of pea gravel for here...

found a couple more white crocus blooming...

loving the purple stripes in these...

Boofy walking the line...

all the cats seem to like to walk the bricks...

and then the weeding began...

these are very old...

they were in the foundation of the old house that once stood next door...

I moved them in 1984...

and here it is after the weeds are pulled...

ok, girls...

it's official leg shavin' week...

with this weather...

and the shorts coming out...

its time to unbraid those locks and get busy...

I may not have a green thumb, but I do have a dirty one...

I love playing in the dirt...

and this is done!

Craig moved the metal lawn chairs back to the fire pit area...

boy, do we have to redo that...

its leaning every which way...

I need one good rain to settle it some more and then it will all be pulled apart, leveled, and then stacked back again...

called the mower guy and he will be here later this week...

and one of our new hyacinths...

love the color and in a few years it will be bigger...

we are lucky it even bloomed the first year...

so that's been the day so far...

cleaning inside for a bit...

and then who knows...

late night rains made it greener...

early this morning, just after breakfast...

those are tiny little leaves!

the late thunderstorms that buzzed through left us with 3/10 of an inch of rain...

just enough to get things popping again...

high of 80 today...

our nights have been so warm!

everything was still damp this morning...

even the eggs...

I have never seen a spring like this one...

and I just love it!

then after lunch, we went out and started working...

more leaf removal...

look at the iris!

the rain beat the other ones down pretty good, but we had new ones open up today...

most of them have been this color...

then we went for a walk and the magnolia tree is in full bloom...

it smells so good!

and another neighbor has a pear tree...

and boy, does it smell so sweet...

ok- this is a bird bath that I got over a month ago...

its resin...

but it has a lot of gold on it...

so a can of fusion for plastic krylon paint...

and the gold is gone...

white this time...

later, I will paint it black...

and the fence sections went  up today...

we have 3 more we need to put together to finish the job...

that's a summer project for this year...

still waiting on the deck...

I want it done...

so I can play there...

I would love to sit outside more...

but there isn't any shade yet!

and it can get a little warm in the sun...

not that I am complaining...

tank tops, shorts and flip flops here!

we could have a week of rain coming this way...

I don't mind at all...

it makes things grow!

still need to call the mower guy!

its been such a beautiful day!

every time I go out, there is something new...

I am not sure how many of these we planted, but they are just popping up all over...

and we cleaned an area out after lunch...

I did go back to bed this morning and slept late...

got all the leaves and some old plants out of here...

thinking I might want to wait before planting it, though...

after all, its not april yet...

all taken apart, raked and put back...

a few things moved around...

so glad I got some of these from my father in laws before he sold the house...

I love this color for spring...

even did my egg tree last night...

lilac...

amazing...

Chris and my son, Craig...

they have been friends since kindergarten...

Chris's mom is the math teacher at the high school...

Doug and a frog for protection...

he forgot to wear green...

yeah, we are a pinching bunch...

I got it this morning in the shower...

like, that's not really fair...

this evening we have thunderstorms heading for us...

I need to call the mower guy...

we could hear the thunder...

this is how is normally looks around here...

and I have been thinking this week, as I sit in the yard or look out the windows...

that this spring might be someone's answer to prayer...

somewhere, there are those who are having their last spring...

their last month...

their last week...

their last day...

maybe someone asked for one more spring...

I like to think that God moved Heaven and Earth to answer someone's last wish...

you know, He's awesome like that...
