oh, what a life...

got some exciting news...
first, I got a new camera...

and as soon as the battery charged, I had to try it out...
its after midnight and the guys are asleep and I am walking around shooting things...
:)
its another Canon PowerShot, but we kind of upgraded this time...
its my Christmas from the guys...

my old camera was starting to go...
and it was getting so hard to get a good shot of anything...

the other news is that we have found the perfect replacements for running the toy drive...
they accepted...
so we will work with them this year and then help out in whatever they need us to do...
but they will be in charge...
and will do a wonderful job...
they are good, hard working people with huge giving hearts...

other news is that my debit card expired and had to get a new one...
went into the photo editor I always use and had to put the new card in to get it to work...
went to check out and discovered it was up to $7.99 a month...
I started at $4.99...
yeah, backed out of there quick and started searching for another...
the first one that popped up as a free online photo editor was iPiccy...
and I love it...
it does an awesome job...
so been spending some time in there learning to navigate their program...
I highly recommend it...

I have also been begging for toys and monetary donations for Christmas Is A Child....

and designed this to be shared on facebook...
so, I am a tired old lady...
we did all that ordering online...
and it has been coming in left and right...
enough to make an elf's toes curl...
:)

have good days...
I will be in here when I can find time...
an elf's work is never done!

very busy day!

we heading up the fire station as soon as we got enough caffeine in us...

and set up the tables for the toy drive...
even sorted what we have already...

ran back home and started on our Thanksgiving dinner...
the guys helped so much...

Doug and Paula got here...
we talked and ate...
it was a good time...

I got in a 2 hour nap, too!
LOL

got up in time for supper and then we started in on the unpacking of Christmas totes...

and all is well with us this morning...
I even got out of bed without any help...
:)

and I kept up...
as best I could...
I'm not saying there wasn't pain and little breaks in there for me...
but we did it...
:)

the need for a shower is great...
so I must swallow down my tea and get my butt moving...
there's some clean up to do and we must go check the donation box again this morning...
(its a new lidded garbage can on wheels we sit just outside the door of fire station)
and we need to get a concrete block in the bottom of it...
so when the winds happen, it won't end up in the highway...

I am not sure if we are decorating outside today and we just let Craig do it on Tuesday when he is off...
probably waiting...
:)
have good days...

let the madness begin!

here we are as in olden days...
happy golden days of yore...

I just cannot believe its this time of the year again....

one of my favorite times of the year...
because...

I think people are just nicer...
that Christ is on their minds more...
and giving is in their hearts...
more this time of the year than any other...

resting up today...
doing our dinner tomorrow and setting up for the toy drive, too...
and Doug is sick...
not sure if he will make it to our house or not...
prayers for him...

have a good weekend!

There may not be another minute free...

so wanted to waddle in here this morning to wish y'all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

and to share some really cute vintage images...

I hope your day is festive...

and your table full...

and those crazy relatives take their meds before popping in...

that travel is safe...

and health is abundant...

that you are able to see all the good in your life...

so you can appreciate all the blessings that God has given you...

and all the prep work is done easily and with a joyful heart...

and that you remember...

that the clean up builds character...

auntie Sue is doing the best she can...

that if you drop it on the floor, a good blessing has you covered...

don't go in the bathroom after uncle Lloyd without a gas mask...

its only once a year...

and... the most important thing...

remember the empty seats now have made you who you are and have filled your heart with so much love and caring....
and...
they are not gone...
they are with you with every breath you take...
:)

Happy Thanksgiving from our house to yours...
bless you and your family and friends...
prayers for a wonderful day for all of you...
:)
