Where does all the time go?

this week has gone by so fast...
I can't believe that Friday is here so fast...
we are hanging onto yet another promise of rain this weekend...
people in the country are having to haul water now...
the wells are going dry...
for personal use at the house and for their livestock...
the creeks are drying...
and soon the wildlife here will start to suffer...
they will head for the rivers and lakes...
3 months now with not enough rain...
we are on city water...
so we are ok...
one of the perks of living in town...
I hear some of you are getting some of the white stuff already...
I'm sorry...
but it will be here soon enough...
I have already started my Christmas shopping...
how about you?...
are you thinking that far ahead?...
are your Thanksgiving plans already made?...

He's back...

our local chief of police showed up this morning with scary pirate guy...
the neighbor kid had taken him and many other things as well...
he has been stealing off of so many, including the grocery store and his parents...
the step father ok'd a trip to the local jail to see where he will be hanging out at if he does this again...
at his age there is not a whole lot the system will do here...
so Officer Jack had a meeting this morning with the school staff and his step father and came up with this plan to handle it here...
I am  happy with the way they are handling it and if it doesn't work...
at least many tried to make a difference in his life...

some times there are things you have to do...

that you don't really want to do...
we had to talk to the police again tonight...
with a neighbor who has lost items also this last week...
this child is only 11...
his sister 6...
we are hoping for some kind of intervention...
help that we cannot give...
I have prayed for guidance with this...
we could have let it go...
but that's what everyone has done the last 2 years...
it's only getting worse...
and who knows where it could end...
I am praying that this turns these little ones around...
that it's not too late...
that it will make a difference...
that their parents will wake up...
and that they are not lost in the system...
When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies. And now when every new baby is born its first laugh becomes a fairy. So there ought to be one fairy for every boy or girl.
-James Barrie, Peter Pan

fall images...

a freshly tilled field...
winds blew a pot over...
and my son's floral arrangement fell out...
hanging ghostie guy...
the leaves are fewer...
the leaves on the persimon tree are about gone...
and we still haven't had a good frost...
these are bitter until it does
so- that's about this for the week...
