my peaceful morning...

good morning to you!

I always love this view early in the morning...

checking out the corn to see how much it grew over night...

and we have been lucky so far not the have the Japanese beetles yet...

they will invade the fern...

I'm kinda hoping the little buggers got froze out during last winter's ice storms... 

mower guy did  come yesterday and the "island", as the guys call it now, looks good after yesterday morning's efforts...

the snap dragons are doing good...

now, back inside...

sorry about the screen getting in the way...

but this is my view from the kitchen table every morning...

I watch the birds come to the feeder hanging in the island...

ok, did this last week, but didn't get it posted...

and I worked a little this morning for my friend doing some marketing research...

found some good ideas for his store...

and this was done last week, too...

got my tin heart from my bestie for some occassion...

maybe valentine's day...

and it holds the doggie's grooming supplies...

found this little birdhouse thingy at the antique mall when I was there Satruday...

2 bucks...

love the crackle paint...

and a true find in the shed when we cleaned it out...

a future project...

have a few ideas floating around in my head, and so far all they have done is float...

looking for just the right inspiration...

there is just nothing better...

I have a few others things to do today...

the guys are working today...

oh, the joy...

puttering this morning...

finishing up little jobs...

cooler today...

trimming limbs, pulling weeds and cleaning up...

the guys worked really well early this morning...

I was in bed very late and up early...

I had to wear my hoody sweatshirt this morning...

it got down to 57!

such a big difference than the last couple of weeks...

and our high today was only 73...

God blessed us with the most perfect summer day...

even the cicadas were quiet this morning...

they are finally starting to die off...

and we moved a few things, but nothing major...

I pulled and hoed and then about noon...

I stiffened up so much, I could hardly move...

another batch of lilies started opening...

love bird cages!

bought this one from Rebecca several years ago at one of her barn sales...

love the shadows here...

we got the island area done...

and then we worked on little areas that needed a weed pulled here and there...

and then we did the most dreadful job of all...

we cleaned out the van...

a years worth of yuck was undone...

Craig and I even went to the car wash and vacuumed it out...

he had helped a friend move who dumped sand all over 2 of the seats...

but now it's clean and ready to haul us to great adventures on down the road...

DH needs to get his drivers license renewed next weekend...

so we will be headed for Paris and another Dollar Store and a smaller hometown Walmart...

maybe they will let me go in...

LOL

they also have a burger king...

if we leave early enough...

biscuits and gravy with a sausage biscuit just might happen...

well, just got a cake out of the oven...

butter brickle...

and a black berry, homemade, pie went in...

still eating on left overs from the BBQ...

it's been a great weekend...

hope your's went as well...

I notice no one has been posting much at all...

I hope that means you are all out there having fun and getting things done!

town trip...

fields on both sides of the road on the way in to town...

this is the shopping center next to Walmart that has the Dollar Tree in it...

this was our 4th stop...

we hit the antique mall, bank and Dollar General first...

then DH dropped me and Craig off here and headed for Walmart...

they don't think it's a good idea to turn me loose in Walmart just yet...

so when we were done, we came outside and sat and waited...

then Craig decided he could push me to Walmart...

ok...

we had to dodge a couple dozen cars...

but we made it...

and I snapped as he ran me around...

they have tons of plants left...

people are just not spending the money on these things right now...

and then we went to Rural King for potting soil and pop...

ran into some friends and talked in the parking lot forever!

by that time it was after 1pm...

and I had skipped breakfast...

bad me...

and I was hungry...

we stopped at Subway first for Craiger...

meatball subs were on sale...

then to Mickey D's...

2 hamburgers for me...

DH got 2 McChickens off of the dollar menu and an ice cream cone...

I skipped the ice cream this week...

we were going to go to the park, but it was getting late and we didn't know if mower guy was coming today or what...

so we ate on the way home...

and then we were pupt...

hauled our loot in and put it up...

and then about 3...

DH and I and the dogs took a nap...

got up at 6!

we potted some plants this evening and just enjoyed the cool air...

we have the windows open and it's 68...

I'm on my way to bed...

gotta do the medicine again...

the whole house is asleep except me...

shouldn't take me long to doze off...

been a real good day...

thank you, Lord...

and thank you for remembering me in your prayers and getting me back on my feet...

sweet dreams...

we got some rain last night...

but I just wanted to get these posted from yesterday...

clematis is doing well, but it did not bloom...

and it's run out of trellis...

hopefully no one will think this is a weed now and pull it again...

Craig and I cut the tops out of the dianthus so they can do it again...

I am not happy with my bright pinkie here...

she is turning red on me...

oh well...

tomatoes are shooting up in all the heat...

would have been the perfect area to put the fire pit...

but the farthest from the doors...

couldn't get out here on bad days...

when we moved in we had one tree and I was taller than it was...

everything here we, the squirrels or God has planted...

some things have been here awhile...

a baby lightening bug...

and I am so liking this area again...

I can't wait to get up in the morning and sit here...

I do this even before getting on the puter...

and you know how much I love my puter...

well, as soon as DH gets back from Newman...

visitation this morning for a guy's mother that he used to work with...

we are heading out for town...

the restock my booth and do the shopping thing for weekly supplies...

we have been talking Taco Bell this morning...

and of course...

the ice cream cones on the way home...

it's 70 here right now!

the cold front has come...
