just another day in the sunshine...

we have had 2 warm days in the 70s, but back to the 60s tomorrow...

I love this little rose...

the columbine are in full bloom now...

I guess today's post is all about the pinks...

the little pansies I planted yesterday...

got a couple of "new" things in here...

been trying to get some things painted today...

love this color, so called and ordered 5 more cans...

Krylon- celery...

the base needs another shot but the can went empty on us...

I am going to move some of these into pots...

I am thinking wave petunias in here...

white and pink...

maybe purple...

not as sore as the last 2 days, but still tired...

thought we would have a do nothing day, but one thing led to another and another and another...

until we had some things done again...

made meat loaf, baked potatoes and corn on the cob for supper...

it was really good...

got taco meat ready for later...

need to really clean inside in the morning...

and another load of laundry...

Craig's off to a friend's house...

so its just me and DH with all the critters...

lots going on around here today...

wanted to show you the dusty millers after I topped them yesterday afternoon...

took off half of all the plants and still have enough...

they were laying down and shooting out shoots...

so its a long time before fall and by topping them or pinching them back...

they will bush more now...

Doug showed up early...

got me out of bed and as soon as I woke up and got dressed...

we hit it...

he scrubbed up all the pots while Craig rinsed them this afternoon...

sent Craig around to take some photos of this morning's efforts...

this was all cleared out...

mower started for the first time and Doug trimmed the south yard...

they dug up the places for the tomatoes later...

and Craig moved some ferns from the north side of the house to get them out of the way for the deck...

I think we might want to move a few more...

there is enough room to get the push mower in and around the tomatoes...

just a lot of cleaning up and getting ready...

there was just no time to get photos this morning...

we just hopped from one thing to the next...

only one short walk in today...

did lunch...

the guys had pizza burgers and curly fries from the White House Cafe...

they didn't have any fish, so I just did my lunch from out of the fridge...

then we went back out and washed pots and I planted a few little ones with pansies...

I am so pupt, I don't know my butt from a hole in the ground right now...

but it is so good to get things done..

we have had to help Doug out a bunch this year already...

and he is not able to pay us back...

so I told him he could come one day a week and help around here for a couple months...

I need to make a list for next week...

and there is a list still to do, that's for sure...

going to get started painting the rest of the pots...

we got the paint for plastic, and they are going white...

started an old bird cage in a light green, but it will need a few more coats...

progress...

its happening...

but I so need a nap now...

today...

between house work and pulling weeds...

I have pulled a few muscles as well...

but got things done and it was a good day...

heading for a hot shower and probably bed...

yeah, I'm wimping out...

so I opted to stay home...

but we did take a few walks...

the wind and allergies caught up to me...

nose running...

eyes watering...

low grade fever...

just a yucky feeling all over...

so I haven't been on here much...

been sleeping mostly...

and some tidying up...

my bestie is coming by tonight...

she should be here any time...

and then I am taking a shower and heading for bed...

be back tomorrow...

the sun came out...

after 2 days of cloudy dreary skies...

I looked up from the computer to find sun spots in the yard...

so out we went for a walk...

everything needed watered so bad...

and we got good soaking rain...

Bebe and his faux trap door jammies...

I caught reflections of the clouds...

in a couple puddles in the road...

you can see some slight damage from the freezes we've had...

and the sun shining through the leaves...

these will probably be done as the next batch starts opening...

and the peonies should open by the end of the week...

went to bed at 9 last night...

after talking to my girl on the phone forever...

we were shopping online together...

she was on Craig's list and I was checking out Pier One...

hopping over to Paris today...

CVS, Kroger and Burger King...

a trip around the parking lot at Walmart to see if there are any plants I NEED...

and then to Rural King...

they have a cooler than cool garden center...

I have a mental list...

bayberry, rose of sharon...

roses...

of course...

I only have 2, so its time to get with the program...

need a yellow one...

asian lilies...

well, its only 3am...

so I may sneak back to bed for a bit...
